Does anyone have yesterdays drive section of the edmonton journal?

I need it bad, because my car was in it and I missed it. I checked all the stores around my area and nothing. I know you can get them but I dont want to wait, I want to see it tonight....anyone in the north side of town....

Let me know please.

Thanks

Nightstalker
Hey, you are in here. Sweet. Want me to scan it for you ?

PS. think you got enough gauges in there you ricer. and it says you were extremely impressed by the way a CAI improved the car.. HA HA HA, my car is never going to be in the news paper.. I am jealous. :tear:

Adam
Yeeah scan I want to read it.

And I was impressed when I first started out, the cai really was an improvement on my car. It was the first thing I did and I thought it was better than sliced bread!!

And all those gauges tell me something, no rainbow light shows in there either!!

kyuu
Dammit now you got me digging through the pile of old newspapers in the garage trying to find it

Adam
It was yesterdays so it shouldnt be hard to find!!

Thanks to Matt as well....chromedragon...for doing the interview and taking the pictures.

kyuu
woohoo found it! like page 4 or 5 in the driving section!!

You know, the artical did kinda sound like the guy writing it actually knew something about cars for once.. I guess the Fact that Matt wrote it explains that a little. Good on both of you.

Ron@Revolution
Congrats Bro! But why stop at only 400Whp?

Nightstalker
Because there is a point where it becomes a waste of money on a FWD car. That would be my reason.

Adam
Awesome, thanks. I like it, Matt did an awesome job.

Thanks Ron, I will more than likely stop at 400 but who knows, I want to do all of this on a stock ecu, which can be done...the record for 1st gen neons on stock ecu is a mid 10 and about 600 whp...but I still want to drive it everyday...I know I know it can be done with a stand alone as well...but I like my way better.

Who knows what the future may bring though!;)

Becaus its a neon, can you say Kaboom?

No metion about your "crew chief", busting his ass at the track, going behind you back and setting up the tires diffrent then what you wanted, endless nights building your coustom turbo parts, slaving over the TIG for hours. Its always about the driver, what about me?

Sorry woman moment, Running 12's doesent happen over night, it takes time, and i have been there every step of the way and its been a blast

I would have to disagree, with the proper set up a FWD car can still net some excellent short times...I was doing 1.7's this year on a stock suspension save the mopar springs. With coilovers, bushings, slicks, a unsprung clutch, LSD, and a 2 step I will more than likely dip into the 1.5 - 1.6 range and get low 7 sec half track times.

I do see your point though as well where a RWD car can get those times much easier and even easier for AWD.

SOme see it as a handicap/waste of time...but I look at it as a challenge/something to conquer

Ron@Revolution
I used to think 400Whp was alot, and it is until you have it. Then 500 seems better, then 600, and now this year???? Hope to see you down in Etown soon.

I absolutely talked about Chris in the interview and made a point to Matt to mention you in the article...why he didnt I dont know.

But I'll give you credit then....

Chris has been a world of help, I pretty much did all of the mechanical work, but chris was the guy that built--- from scratch, by hand -- my 3" downpipe ( a total of 68" of tig welding pie cut bends ), my turbo manifold, waste gate dump, BOV flange, oil pan bungs, and catch can set up. Huge money saved and 1 off parts to brag about. Wouldnt be where I am if not for chris.

Sorry about that Adam and Chris, I'm not quite sure why I didn't get the mention in there. I was so busy during the holidays though I didn't have a ton of time to spend on the story. I'll be sure to have some credits in there if/when we do a bit of a follow-up this spring.

Matt

P.S. I can get you a few copies of the paper if you like, we have lots around the office.

P.P.S. The story is going to the wire and it's quite possible it will run in other cities, I'll try to get them to add in the credit for Chris. The first profile I ran (JP's MR2) ended up running in nine papers across Canada, so who knows?:dunno:
