| So I haven't talked on here for about 4 month's because I moved to Ottawa for school. I'm back home in etown for the holidays and let me tell you, even in this quasi-winter we're having, there's more rides out here than there was in ottawa's +30 degree sept/oct. Honestly I think if someone brought out a rhd they would shit their pants. Right now it's like, oooh that guy has underglow! An upside is that there is less ricers too. Anyways it's good to be home :D |

heh I know a buncha guys that are drooling over skylines like they're mclarens or something... I told them they're almost a dime a dozen out here and they're like "Oh noo way" drool emot drool emot |

| lol. Skylines are pretty impressive the first few times. Especially modded ones like Damiens yellow gt-r. I mean, New guys drool over body work. You could tell em it has 5000 hp as long as it has a wing, a huge exhaust and maybe a screen or two. lol. |

The first 2 times I saw skylines in person, I was cut off by 2 of them within 15min, I wasn't too impressed.
Besides... according to 2f2f an evo is better than a skyline :D |

LOL.. he didn't pay for the doors, he got them free for being the tester.
It's a show car, he has another car for a daily, and at least it's got a turbo.
And you guys never said anything like that when I showed up to UC in this:

Heh ya I know.. insurance bought it for me.
The wife's neon is back to stock, cept for the us grill, diamond clear headlights, and a cai.
I drive boat now.. no rice parts availible for that :P Well I have diamond clear H4 conversions for the headlights, but thats more function over form. |

| I got excited one day cause I saw a stock deuce NA at the grocery store. That's how bad I have found it to be. On the upside there's a good amount of M3's and luxury vehicles... and the cool ones with red diplomatic plates. |

Well every year from 1995 - 2005 except 2000-2002 a Neon was a dodge, just in Canada they decided to make them chryslers for 3 years. I dunno where you get the honda from though... The bumper is off and sitting in my parent's basement... i tried to sell it... but no enough of a neon scene out here... I know a lady who might buy it from me :P |

Sorry. based of what i heard on the neon boards out east the tuner scene was pretty good, with darknights, scrape by the lake and what not. You got more car clubs pver then than we know how to shake a stick at.... |

Couple factors that may account for what you saw:
1) Ontario's economy is not nearly as good as it is in Alberta. Its hard enough for well-educated adults to find and keep decent paying jobs. (let alone rich kids with too much of their parents money burning holes in their pockets).
2) Ontario has some really ghey laws that put some major restrictions on the car hobby. If Alberta had some of their laws (and enforcement) our scene would probably tank a bit too. |

| They have such little police in Ottawa, like honestly I think I've seen one cop shop and maybe about 15 cars in my 4 months. I can't see the cops being a big problem. As far as my opinion goes, I think the bigger deal is luxury cars over modded. I see a lot more Jags, bimmers, cedes', as compared to here. It seems like there is less willingness to put parts into their vehicles and would rather just buy something fancy. IMHO. |

Well im far east.. (montreal) and id definitely confirm that JDM's are quite rare compared to what ive read on these forums the past while. I can recall seeing ONE skyline in my 20 years of living here.
However like someone else said there are loads of more...classy if you will...cars. On my 20 minute drive to work every day, especially in the summer, im stretching to get a good look at a nice porsche, bimmer, lex etc ALL the time.
However as for imports sadly i see WAY too many rustbuckets with fartcannons.
Oh yeah and cops are eveywhere at least in my area, and are assholes when it comes to mods. |
|
|
| dsl55 |
Yeah but you're from frenchie land ;) I don't stray across the river into hull :P
Definatley more classy cars Which would be awesome if all those guys would mod their M3's! |

Being from there I gota say Ontarios got a huge car community. there alot more retarted imo compaird to most of you out here but I can rember nights hanging out at Bank and altavista with easily 400+ cars parked and crusing the area on a summers night.
Theres alot to look out for down there on the streets as well. One 1981 camaro has just changed his nitrous 383 settup that put him at a 10.5 to a Twin turbo 400ci settup for this next year. (I helped the owner pull his motor one day back 4yrs ago or something)
The city has a tuner as well named Chris Tapp. www.tappauto.com This guy is good.

i think the further west you go, the better the import scene is. look at vancouver and the lower mainland, massive!
of course there are nice rides to be found everywhere, i'm not hating on the east. |
|
|
| beatshack |
| thats cuz all the skylines arrive in vancouver, easy for us to buy and drive down, only 1 province away. |

I find that to be the trend as well but damn Quebec has some nice rides as well. Look at all those Supras. |
