I am havin a dilly of a pickle tryin to find information on half manifold turbo setups for low psi turbo systems :(

I googled and searched a bunch of sites but I cant find anything. Stupid thing is I seen many of these setups and they work pretty damn good. Any one got info on how to setup a half manifold turbo setup on a fwd v6?

Please share your thoughts Im very curious.......

Nightstalker
Are you talking about welding a flange onto the first half of your factory exhaust manifold so that you can bolt a turbo on ?

Markgase2000
You know what Im talkin about. Exactly what I mean. But what turbo to use? What kind of setup? I might have access to some turbos for cheap..........

Nightstalker
Well to really chose the right turbo I would need to know how many CF/M your engine can push. How much boost you want to run. Something that I say to everyone Mark. What are your goals ?

Ditto, if your serious about turbocharging the grand am pick up a book, maximum boost (by corky bell) is a good starter, then you can figure out or narrow down what trubo you'll need ect. why not just buy that gtp swap that 4kruzn has for sale in the marketplace?

Another good book, is " Forced Induction : A practical guide " By Graham Bell. I would assume the two are related. Great book, covers pretty much everthing. Takes examples from old and current turbo models. Lots of focus on the technology used in racing. I love the book. If you don't want to read a whole bunch you can just start asking questions and I can start mocking you :p

He makes referance to the four stroke book in the FI one, I am planning to pick it up just so that I can actaully check out a little more about what he is talking about.

Those books are great but you have to take into account there are ALOT of opinions that are stated as facts in there. The calculations are great but there is alot of his opinion mixed in.

Actually I find that he often talks about other opinions on how to do things when offering his own. Personally I like to hear peoples opinions on things. As long as they actually know what they are talking about. Its one thing I really find lacking on the internet. Everyone has a opinion. But very few people have a educated one.
