91 civic running light relay switch..? - Click HERE for Original Thread

badd
does this exist??

my running lights (front and rear) dont work. fuses are fine. i was told that it has to be the relay switch.

i googled it and cant find it anywhere.

any suggestions?

anyone know if this exists?

ifso do you knwo where it is?

shorti
yeah there's a relay switch behind the center console. take it out and take it apart, there should be a soldered connection that'll have a crack in it. just resolder it and they'll work.
i'll try and find some pictures

shorti
Ok i found some pictures but i did this to my car a few years ago so i've kind of forgot which relay it is exactly.
I thought it was this relay but after looking over the rest of the manual it's probably this relay that you have to take out.
Once you unclip it and take it apart it should look like this. Just resolder the connection and they should work.

badd
wow

that was awesome

thanks man.

shorti
ya no problem
one question though, have you ever had problems starting your car in hot weather? or after you've run the car really hard?

badd
nope

always starts.

and i dont drive her to hard.

badd
so i it is the one under the center console (take out glove box and it is hard to miss and a bitch to get out)

opened her up had some broken welds, re soldered them and the running lights work...

but...

now when i start my car the headlights stay on with the running lights... so my headlights are always on while the car is running!!

when she is off it all works normally.

good enough for now. i will go to pick and pull and get another relay when i have the time.

once again thanks man.
