If you don't care about quality - maaco, or do it yourself..
Rent a compressor and lines from Rona/Bluebird/etc got to Princess Auto, pick up a spray gun, water filter and pressure regualor if you can't get them from the rental place.
Hit an automovtive paint store... get your primer, color and clear.... lotsa masking tape andpaper to cover windows... and go to town. |

well id rather pay someone to do it cuz if i do it myself the paint will probably run.

| Maccos painting is usually really good. Its just the prep work that sucks balls. |

Should be 500-600 for a single stage paint job.
Remember, with just a "splash job" you will most likely receive no real warranty either. |

Yup, and it also comes with guaranteed fading and peeling in 2 months.

Go to Desro's if you need a paint booth. There's also someone usually there to paint your car if you're afraid to do it yourself.
Paint/primer/materials for really cheap junky stuff will be around $200, but spend just a bit more and get something name brandish (PPG has good quality good price). And it will be around $350 (but it will be worth it).
Rent the booth on Friday (or Saturday), I forget which day, so you can leave it overnight. And get someone to spray it for about $50-80 bucks.
If you do it yourself, it's not so hard. If it runs, who cares? Don't put on too much at once and it's pretty tough to run it. The thing that will most likely happen is orange peel (again, not so bad, you can wet sand it out, just more work).
(You can also 'cut' runs etc) |

we painted our volvo we used to have at maaco and they did a ok job for the price. paid $1000 and that was for base/clear and like a 5 year warrenty.
there prep works really does suck though. weather stripping was painted, exhaust was half painted, very small amount on windows, etc. i just fixed it myself but it was a pain in the ass. |

| What is this desros place. do you have to do all this under the table? |
|

Desro's is a do it yourself rental place. They rent out bays to work on your car (air tools, lifts, paint booth etc).
It's near Calgary Trail South? (I know how to find it, don't know address, use the phone book). |
