| First off do not take your girlfriend to this movie lol, most of them prolly won't enjoy it. The movie is quite slow but most of it based on actual events so its pretty interesting, I wouldn't recommend seeing it in the threatre wait for the dvd imo, also its pretty long 2 1/2+ hrs, I liked the characters in the movie though and how they were choosen and they're back stories, I'd give it 8/10:) |

This is most likely going to remain in my top 3 films of 2006, it is a masterpiece of taking a real life event to film and not cutting in insane amounts of Bullshit. For those that know about the basis of the film, its is advised that you go see it and you will see the events with new eyes. For those that have never heard of the events, you are gaining knowledge in events that are either A) Crap or B) you just lack interest in historical events that set the stage for todays conflicts.
Camera work is the best Ive seen in ages, from the back window of a moving car shot to the elevator scene through the glass, its is done with taste, class, and no over the top residue. Most films tend to have some sappy love story tied into them so that the Mrs. wont totally be bored out, but this one is quick (sex scenes), direct, and 100% emotional(crying when he hears his daughters voice say "dada"). In other words its not a hunk of trash like the Episode III "love scene" between Anakin and Padme was, which to sum up in one word was "painful" to watch.
The film was considerably lengthy compared to other "quickies", but every single minute of it left you in the story. It was part Revenge, part Action, then a shitload of Espionage and Selling Info that someone accidentally spilled into the pot.
Highly reccomended, 5/5. |
