i have a compaq sr1150nx, its a good computer, but when i play need for speed most wanted, it LAGS, sometimes it lags so bad the game just closes itself down? it meets all teh requiremeants and beyond, im just wondering if i maybe need to upgrade my video card? any sugguestions? any ideas on problmes?

i close everything running in applications before i play, but it really doesnt make a difference if i do or not.

thats the link to your computers specs.

the 2 biggest things that need to be upgraded on your comp is the vid card and the sound card.

your vid card is 64MB shared with your computers ram, so up the vid card you will notice better graphics and smoother play

the sound card is a ac97 integrated chip, it just sucks the cpu cycles like crazy, you will get better performance with an audgy 2 or higher card, and much much better sound quality.

in the mean time put the video settings on minumim and put the sound quality on low :thumbup:

actually.. the game just has shitty engines...

Because my buddy who just bought a $2500 computer.. (Just the box) he said It still run's crappy and grapics are shitty

it runs fine for me, gf fx5700 1024 ddr, athlon xp 1900

u just cant get to greedy with the video settings
