Black tail lights are illegal. You can either paint them (smoked) or use tint. Either way, you will get a ticket...
Clearing the turn signals is a DIY. I've done it. It was a lot harder than the front turn signals, mainly because the hole is alot smaller and more suseptable of burning the plastic with the soldering iron. Remember, you need to use amber bulbs or else you'll get a ticket. I bought chromed covered amber bulbs that look great! |

| not the brake lights just the turn signals i want black. brake lights will remain red, i was reading on car domain an easy way to clear the tail lights, cuz if im right the what makes the color in the turn signal is just a piece of plastic right? so all u need to do u remove the plastic piece, but like anything alot eaiser said than done, but i think i can undergo this task. |

Even if you black out just the turn signal part on your tail lights, it's illegal...
To remove the amber plastic lense, you need to use a soldering iron to melt the plastic so that you can break it apart with pliars and remove the pieces thru the light bulb hole. It's a very small hole and it's very easy to melt the plastic with the soldering iron. If you melt it too much, the light bulb won't lock into place...
I bought my amber bulbs from Matrix Motorsports. They were special order. Can't remember the make or bulb # off hand... |

Good luck with that. Buy a used set because you will most likely reuin them by doing that...
If you are successful, you will probably run into moisture problems but you could always remedy that with a good helping of silicone and then they would just look like a$$... |

Because it will look like shit. Why wouldn't you do it the proper way like I suggested and it will look good, you won't have problems with the bulbs popping out and you won't have moisture problems.
But hey, it's your car so do what you wish... |
