Theres a couple guys with 3rd gen ludes. Theonly3rd and jarenz i believe. We're finally starting to get more in the club. I and a few others used to have them, but moved on to newer ludes. Anything you need to know about them?
as for a seperate section for 3rd gens....we just have one section, for all the generations. If your looking for 3rd gen specific sites theres Vancouverpreludeclub.com Preludepower.com and a few more that have 3rd gen sections. |

k dont wanna stir up any contraversy but are the 4'th or 5'th gen ludes alot faster? the non v=tech i mean casue i raced one with my 88 si a couple weeks back and i pulled away from him in 3'rd it was blue i think a 94 or 95 is there some point where theres a big speed jump between years hit me back
life luder:beer: |

are you running stock???
cause the 4th gens sr's i think are pushing around 25hp 30lb.ft. of torque more then the 3rd gen si's... however i think the 4th gens weigh a couple hundred pounds less though....
correct me if i'm wrong ppl
but i am guessing if you are running stock the other lude driver did not know how to shift.. :dunno:
i have raced a 4th gen before and i got creamed... lol
but i never figured whether it was a SR or SR-V |

| ya that was befor i got my intake and exhaust and ive got 300 k on the thing but ya he probaby didnt know how to shift i dont know im contemplating keeping my lude and putting money into it or just buying a newer one or an all wheel drive turbo 99 eclipse i dont know yet oh and anyone know if the regular rsx's are alot and i mean slot slower than the type s casue i know im gonna get feedback from this but i matched one in the city last week after i got my intake and exhaust |

if you are looking to upgrade slightly and like the style of the 3rd gens i would suggest trading ur 88 SI for a 90-91 SR
i had an 88 si and my current 90 sr and i can tell yah one thing for sure...... HUGE DIFFERENCE... the 90sr's are only 5or6hp more then the 88si, but after driving the 90sr i was amazed at how guttless my 88si seemed....
not to mention the 90-91 had alittle nicer tail lights and front bumper....
:dunno: just a thought... :dunno: |

| k ya i was thinking about it but i dont know mabe ill just completely restore my 88 and use it for a winter beater but who knows im definately never getting rid of it though is that your rx7? |
|
|
| jerry73 |
| sorry i havent responded in a bit but wow that inx is different same save for the headlights preyyt much thats cool but ya you musta wanted to kill the bastard that hit your rx7 i know i would. i really like the 93-95 rx7's i was actually thinking of importing one but decided it wasnt very practical compared to pretty much anything else. but ya hope your rx7 is salvageable. and nice lude very clean. im going up north for a little while to work so i was thnking of mabe getting a 5'th gen lude mabe very sexy cars. either that or the all wheel drive turbo eclipse. |

yah i would love having a 5th gen lude myself but i love the style of the 90-91 3rd gens way more then any other gen... so i am thinking i might have to import one of those inx's myself (if i can find a 5-speed DOHC fuel injected one) if not then just import a 90 si
i am also in the process of importing a 4th gen SR-V lude its legal this september....
yah i was pretty pissed off at the person who hit my 7 esspecially because i had just finished mounting a full custom exhaust system, and just finished a stage 1 performance clutch job only about 2 weeks prior...
yah it isnt really salvagable to fix to be road worthy again because of all the inspection you have to put it through.... it would cost to much....
but i am just fixing a few things up and am using it as an AutoX car in our rx7 club autoX's... i just finished today pulling the bumper out and the fender out and fixed the hood so it now fully closes, but it aint worth completely fixing it even with my low kms i had on the car.... |
|
|
| jerry73 |
| well thats too bad about the rx7 but ya did you import your rx7? and if not have you ever drivin a right hand drive car? i was thinking of importing anything i got, a little because you can get them for alot cheaper than you can get them here especially if you import them yourself. |
|
|
| ccthompson |
no my rx7 was not jdm... however i am in the process of importing 1or2 FD rx7s and 2 4th gen preludes.... however they are not legal until fall so i will not actually receive them until later this year....
i have yet to own a rhd jdm car myself... however i have driven one.... i drove that Prelude INX that i posted pictures of that jdm connection is selling...... william at jdmconnection.ca is actually who i am importing through...
actually i find it alot more confortable driving on the right hand side for some reason... however that prelude was an automatic so i am betting its the part about shifting with your left hand when i have a 5-speed that i will have to get used to.... |
|
|
| jerry73 |
| ya the shifting would take some getting used to but its the whole driving with my right hand on the steering wheel that i think would take more getting used to for me but im sure it would be worth the time it takes to get used to it just to have a rhd. theres only a handful of skylines in the city that i have seen and i actually saw a crx last week oh hey question? do you know if i can swap a v-tech b series head off any other honda onto my stock b20a5? i heard its supposed to add up to 40 hp at the crank but i cant emagine it would beeasy to find a v-tech head that noone wants let me know if you have any ideas:beer: |
|
|
| ccthompson |
i havent really heard of anyone doing that... i suppose it is possible is you got enough cash for it cause anything is possible....
howabout swapping in a complete H22A V-tech :D
or a complete F20C (s2000 engine) :D
dont know if they would fit easily u would prob have to make custom motor mounts and i am not sure if it would be compatable but it would be something to ask....
it would be pricey but i would swap in a complete B18CR (Integra Type R engine) but you are looking at around $4250CAD for one... |
|
|
| Jarenz |
| I also have a thrid gen. The H22 swap is probably the easyest swap with the most power gain the mounts need to be made custom and there is tones of info on preludepower about these swaps there has been a few people have done it |
|
|
| jerry73 |
| lol an s2000 engine would be amazing but i think the 3'rd gen swap would be the most effective but then i might as well just buy the whole car with engine and all i supose. i was just hoping to find a wrecked car with a v-tech head cause i heard any b-series engine is virtually parts interchangeable but ya thanks for the info ill keep searching. |
