Depends who your around, I guess at 18 you shouldent feel old unless your hanging around 6 year olds all day...
Go stand around a 40 year old and see if you feel old.

23, and I feel it when I see kids hanging out that are around 16-18... especially in clubs/bars or at movies.

I seen some punk kit at cineplexodeon a few weeks ago, and I was telling my g/f how retarded he looked with his spikey purple hair and chains, earings etc...

My g/f laughed at me and reminded me how I used to be exactly like that...

thats when you think your old.

SketchifisT
When i tell my co-worker that he is old enough to be my father , and ask him why we have the exact same nose ;)

Hard to believe i feel old at 20 but thats becausemy body has been through too much already. Really i wont feel old until i have my kids and they have there kids, thats when i know ive hit "old" status

blitz
yea when 20 comes around ....... you start to realize its time to grow up

sparkycivic
im 26 and I feel old because my body is a dud, for joints and back

makes me wonder, do they think their cool because their dressed up like emo punks?

DeathBy240
I'm 21 and almost everyone I work with is at least double my age. It makes me feel very young.

LudeDude19
21 man..i feel old as hell

REFLUX
I'm 22 going on 23 this year and I don't feel old at all.
IMO, it's all in your head

For example, if you grew up around people who put a lot of emphasis on age/time then you too will use time as a reference point in life.

I remember having my 18th birthday and I didn't feel any different, do anything different, act any different, etc etc than when I was 17 or even 19.

Maybe it's all in the rate that we mentally mature at.
That if your mind/personality is doing things that aren't typical of your chronological age, you will either feel old or young.

If you're a seriously mature person at the age of 17, you will feel young because you won't be doing the things your 17 year old peers are, you may even wonder why they do the things they do. You may even find it easier to relate to other more mature people, namely older adults, so when you reference their age to yours, you'll really feel like a kid.

If you're young at heart at the age of 25 and you're at a club filled with 18 year olds, you're going to feel old because you are still doing what those younger than you do when you are a good deal older.

I guess it was for attention?

It seemed cool at the time, although EMO didnt exist.

I did it when i skated, when being a "skater" was not only a sport, but an image/attitude aswell.

It was more of a grudge thing (nirvana) which evolved to punk for me anyways, (NOFX, RANCID etc)

I remember not being allowed to snowboard at some ski hills, and skateboarding was frowned on.....

I remember going around with a petition to get a skateboard park put up by the kinsmen pool in sherwood park, and after about 2yrs they built one out of plywood.

I guess this was almost 12 years ago.. haha.. Now i feel old again.

oldraven
When you realise that you don't know any of the VJ's on MUCH, and they annoy the hell out of you. Then again, all teen agers do.

Oh, that and my ten year reunion is next June.

I was kinda the opposite. I "skateboarded" a bit back in the 80's when it was just a sport, before the image/attitude came about. And I dropped it altogether once it did. The whole attitude BS didn't appeal to me at all.

Perhaps that's why I dislike snowboarding to this day and remain a devote skier. (and I did TRY snowboarding, about 7-8 years ago). Mind you, there are skiers out there with attitudes too... Oh well.

I think there are people with attitude problems in every sport.
Elitist Golfers, bicyclers, rollerbladers, rock climbers, etc.

The common theme isn't a problematic sport...but rather problematic people.

You know you're getting old(er) when you start hearing people using new slangs for the clans. "emo" heh.

im quite open minded about the age difference, but theres gotta be a limit of some sort where it starts to look awkward.

it could be worse. i think i saw on Maury where young guys were going out with grannies... hows THAT for gold diggers?

ozzmodan
I felt old when I was 21. I turned 21 I was single with no responsibilites with a nice car, before I turned 22 I realized I was engaged, bought a house, had RRSPs, was driving a Protege & was comparing everything to "the way they used to be".

Kyle

Heh, similar to me. I was 18 turning 19 when I bought my first nice car, had money/job and responsibilities, went half on a house with my parents until I decided what I was gonna do, then got serious with my girlfriend, now I'm 21 and still dragging with the same things on my plate. I feel like a career change and a life change already. I just had a close relative pass away at a fairly young age and it made me feel like I have to do better with myself and have more fun.

According to my wife it is because you are driving a BMW. When I bought mine she told me it was an old man car. lol

If I remember correctly, you were the one who was driving around with your bosses smart car. Just tell her all the stories about the chicks checking you out in it, she'll change her mind about you being old real quick :D

I remember feeling old at the Calgary V8Less afterparty a few years ago. My buddy and I were were hanging with one of the models and her friends. We were exchanging background info (small talk) and they said:

"So you guys, like, graduated, and like, work? That is soooo coooool".

OMFG I felt old.

Bad Egg
You know you are getting old when:

Cops that stop you for tickets are waaay younger than you.

On Friday night you get excited when a new movie you want is out on video.

You don't sleep in in the mornings but you start to love afternoon naps.

When you drink beer you get all tired & sleepy before you get drunk.

A case of beer in your fridge lasts over a year.

You feel guilty looking at girls that are 18.

You have to work out just to stay fat.

You have retro clothes in your closet that were bought new when that was the style.

I didn't copy and paste those...this is real life and some of what you guys have to look forward to.

On the plus side, women get much hornier in their mid to late 30's.

it was either that, or an 86 accord for winter. if i drive the 86 accord, i look/sound like a ricer due to the exhaust leak. and the BMW is a safer winter car for me. im using the accord as my base car that im gonna turbo for summer. should be interesting though.

exactly how is a BMW an old mans car? are all luxury or higher end cars like this as well?

SilverZ24
Yeah, she is basically just saying they are mostly driven by old guys. She has funny opinions about cars (she is afterall, a girl) :D

newaccorddriver
haha. its just like everybody saying im the one exception to alot of things. my BMW is my winter beater, while my accords my summer car. dont ask why, it just is:thumbup:

RacerGirl
^^ hey hey now

I usually feel a lot younger than I am. heck, i get the weirdest looks when I am out with my son somewhere, old ladies look at me like I am 17.

It could be worse. Your wife could call your car a greasemobile. I tried to explain to her that it's only a greasemobile if it's full of rust, has a blue cloud following it everywhere, and the driver has a mullet.

This one guy I know, his wife calls his car a "bucket of bolts" because it is "so old". He drives a mint 82 Pontiac Grand Prix with a 400 in it and something like 70 original k on it. One of the nicest and fastest bucket of bolts I have ever been in. lol

HEY!!! I resemble that remark!!!

You start to feel old when the ticket taker at the movies or the girl at the fast food counter calls you "sir". I felt like I got slapped in the face.

Speeding in an MR2, I got pulled over by a cop. He turned out to be about 15 years younger than me. He checked all the paperwork and then just said "you're going a little fast, sir. You should ease up a bit before you have a heart attack", and then he walked away. I was so insulted I turned around in my seat to yell at him walking back to his cruiser. And then at the last second I realized "what the hell are you doing?" so I rolled up the window and drove away.........

Charles_00civic
14.. cause then those freaking kids revolutionized games. Seriously. Who the hell can have fun chasing mario around with a stick. ITS UP DOWN LEFT RIGHT A B SELECT START. Maybe R and L if your lucky. Oh.. and when you don't have to rely on the bus or your parents for rides everywhere. It makes you feel old.. not independant.
