TSX....its coming... - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if any of you are excited about the new TSX? I went to Southview Acura they said that they are getting some on April 8. Well that's what Shawn told me. But if you have any thoughts on this car post it up here.

Thanks.

REFLUX
ill  wen the RSX Typ-R comes

Clem
pics?

Clem
Neon, meets Accord meets Plymouth?

uncle ben
I like the TSX, but i'm sure acura will overprice it. I think it should be priced near the accord v6 coupe, but it will probably be 10k more.

What else is new

uncle ben
Stupid acrura, thay make a cool car and they overprice it so noone will buy it. I bet it will be 40k. I'd rather buy the RX-8 for 35k

redbaron303
Funny thing is... when the TL, MDX, and RSX all made their debut west side acura had a hard time keeping them on the lot... they sold like hot cakes, and they still sell well... doesn't matter that they're overpriced, I mean if you think along those lines every car is overpriced, especially the majority of american rides for the money..... but lets not get into that again!

Clem
For 40K why not buy a BMW :D

Meh, buy a Maxima, I fell in love with that car at the show, my god I've never loved a family car so much!

It's a tough call, I had trouble keeping my cookies when I saw on the showroom floor.

It's like they dipped into both Honda and Acura parts bins to make this car.

Doesn't seem like anything new.

That V10 powered sport truck was pretty darn cool though, I hate to admit it.

But I still love the G35 Coupe' there's something about the way a V6 sounds when it has a properly tuned exhaust...

98Luder
looks not too bad

Yea, those are Recaro sports, i'm not sure if we'll get those here or not? looks kinda neat though.

It also uses a Kseries engine, but i'm sure the Cdn models will not have the Integra/RSX typeR engine like in Japan, they said 2.4L, probably the same K24 as the CRV?

uncle ben
Nah, i'm pretty sure they will have the k series engines and not just the CRV mill. They rate the horspower at 200hp right? I was reading on the autoweek website, they test drove it and aparently the engine makes mad torque (for a honda) the 6 speed was the best one they've ever tested, and the suspension is going to be "firmer" than the european model when it comes down.... yup "firmer" But i think it will be priced in the low $40's. They say that if they dont sell all 15000 units, then they probably wont import anymore european models into the americas. This is sort of a test, to see if we really want a european can.

h46it
Well i think eveyone is right. You know that this car is going to expensive because it is option pkg honda. But how many time will we ever get a chance to get a car that has the jdm front end on it. Like 'Unkle Ben' said if there is not enough sales in this car they will never bring euro spec cars to North America. You know if the sales do well in TSX. You never know they could in the future bring CTR.

98luder,

Thanks for those pics.

97lude
I can't wait till the TSX comes out, I'm seriously considering it. As for price, it will be under $35k for sure. For the price, I think it is one of the best cars out there in terms of overall value.

uncle ben
are you sure it will be under $35,000.00 POSITIVE? because if it is that price i can totally see those things flying off the lot. That's dirt cheap for what you get. I expected acura, with its crazy prices, would price it at least in the mid 40's. If that's the price then i dont think they'll have a problem selling all 1500 of them. Where did you get that price from?

GTS Jeff
well it does look like a really kickass car, but im sad that honda chromified it and changed the front end on it.

Thats the price all dealers are saying, plus the TSX is suppose to slot between the RSX and TL, TL's go for $40+ so there is no way the TSX is going to be up there. It'll fall under $35k but I still don't think they will sell like crazy because of a lack of a V6

hondas are teh suck :blast:

Agreed! They suck ass!

import_3000
so the tsx is actually an accord in japan? :wtf:

h46it
Well i know that everyone has there opinion on the car. V8slayer, darkman and schlong 69. But you know if every would say that the cars you drive could suck. But you know that you like the product and that the only thing that matters. I like honda. Do i suck then? You know it just a car, i just a car enthusiast and i just happen too be basis to honda. I like a lot of cars.

Well we hope that the price of the car is around 35k? You can ask Shawn at SouthView. He's the guy that help me out at the dealership. But if does come in at that price that would be really good. You know TSX is really close to the JDM front end. And yes the TSX is just a Accord.

darkman

Dont' get me wrong man...I'm one of the Honda guys here on the forums...I KNOW what is it like when people say Honduh sucks. B)

so?

the 6th gen accord, tl, and cl are all the same car....so?????? the civic and teg/rsx are also the same car....SO?!?!?!?

the tsx, a jdm accord, shares the same platform and engine as the usdm accord and the same suspension setup, but the tsx is stiffened up, has different body panels, the engine is tuned more aggressively, and the interiors are different. it would be hard to mistake a tsx for an accord.

Yeah, but 40K will only get you a stripped-down, underpowered Bimmer, if you're lucky (that's assuming NEW).

Hey man, thanks for posting the red TSX or the Accord online. I'm thinking about trading in my Civic for it. Of course, it has to be in red to compliment my other ride.

uncle ben
If they price it in the mid to high 30's range, there will not be allot of cars that will offer the same preformance and refinement as the new TSX. I mean, it will come close to the lexus IS 300 in handling, power and refinement, and for thousands less. I think that it will be quite the competant contender and will even give simularly priced BMW's a run for their money.

redbaron303
Does anyone know if those Recaro seats will be available in the car (the ones from the EuroR, that red honda in teh pix a couple replies up?) The TSX at the carshow had leather and the works in it?! So i'm just curious!

GTS Jeff
the AER has a 220hp k20a5, whereas the tsx has a 200hp k24. the tsx wont have recaros.

h46it
Hey those are some nice pics Chowder. I like them. Sorry what other ride do you have? Is it red too?

Inzane that's a good point.

I think that the TSX will be a good car. I hope that it will be as good as the IS300. You know you can be rwd sometimes. Does the TSX have lsd? Does anyone know if it does? That would a great plus if it came with LSD. I'll go to Southview Acura and ask. I hope they know a little more now.

redbaron303 yeah its a shame but i think that we are not getting the recaro's again. We never going to get those seats here. Your just going have to buy them.

Jeff Type R what is the k20a5? What is the difference than the k20a1? Is it the gearing and no lsd? Does anyone know if its 6speed or 5speed? I wonder if these are the difference in the k20a1 and k20a5?

If anyone knows. Just post it up. Cool. Thanks.

97lude
No LSD and its a 6spd, no recaro's leather only

uncle ben
I've heard from a few sources now that the price is going o be around $37,000.00 LOADED!, a stripoed down version is going to be around $35. That will defiantly be a great car, and will be an excelent preformance platform.

97lude
I've also heard from a few sources that the car will be around $34k and only come one way (fully loaded) with the only option being auto or 6spd.
