Time to buy some plane tix!
I was surprised to see my daughter, born in May, got a cheque too. I was under the impression that only people who filed or were claimed on 2004 taxes were eligible. I guess as long as you're on the books and your household filed taxes in Alberta last year, all is good. |

| ^ I'm pretty sure if the kid has never filed a return then it goes on the parents cheque. But if the kid has filed a tax return then it goes to them. Age doesn't matter (although obviously a one year old hasn't filed a return yet). :) |

Not unless she snuck out of the womb for a quick tax day last march.
So, since we will be filing our taxes in Alberta in 2006, if there is another prosperity blowout next year, I should get it then, even in Nova Scotia. |

 Just remember to make sure that your address is permanently forwarded at the post office. |

thats not completely true.
my situation is that i recently turned 18, and ive been living here for 4 years, but i HAVENT filed a tax return in 2004. i called the number on the website i found and the girl told me that i wouldnt get one unless i file a 2004 return.
apparently as soon as i turned 18, im taken out of the child tax benefit program, so im taken out of the list of eligible people for the rebate. but at the same time, im also put back in, if i had filed a 2004 tax return. weird, but thats how she said it worked.
also, if you happen to be under 18, the cheques go to the primary caregiver |
