I had a long convo with the motorola rep today, we arent supposed to say anything.. and there hasnt been any press releases but it looks good for mid/late next month.

A guy I work with got a cellphone yesterday...and the guy we spoke with flapped his gums for a while about getting the razr in the next couple of weeks so I wouldn't worry too much about saying things you aren't supposed to because it seems everyone is gonna know anyways :P |

As far as I know, Rogers will be receiving the V3 as well, if it hasn't already... |

| Telus told me this about 2 weeks ago. It is also in another thread. I was told the stores would have it on the 13th of Feb. |

| I have to renew my contract this month. I would switch to a different carrier except I've had this same number for 2-3 years now and I don't want to change it unexpectedly. My phone was also $300 when I first bought it and they are still selling it for $150 refirb'd so I'm stuck for awhile. |
|

| ChromeDragon |
Or save your money and go to Bell. I was so sick of Telus's bullshit after 6 years that I switched over and haven't regretted it for a second. $20 a month cheaper for more minutes and two extra hours for evenings (6pm-8am instead of 7-7), better voicemail, 20 free homebase calls.
Unlike Telus, Bell includes all of their fees in their rate plans. None of the $30 a month plan, plus access fee, plus 911 charges, plus extra bullshit. $25/month + tax includes EVERYTHING.
Plus they use the same towers as Telus so you still get the best signal. |
|
|
| Casanova |
Rogers had theirs over a year ago I believe. and I would rather go with Bell then telus anyday.
in addition to what chromey said, bell piggybacks off telus towers but they have also built a few of their own towers where telus signal was weak... so believe it or not their reception is superior to telus' |

They were the hype a year or two ago.
Bell has the V3c as well.

The Telus one has not locked the bluetooth functionality though, Bell's is.

depends on ur contract.. if you spend alot of money per month you'r going to get it cheaper than someone who is on the minimum plan.. thats just the way it is.
the razrs are flat.. so they would fit in a pocket/purse without causing bulges or whatever.. its a hype you guys are right. but whatever :) i like em

lol.. telus and bell are very similar.. bell tends to have flashier shit, telus is more of a family thing. Otherwise they end up having alot of the same or similar stuff.
and no the bluetooth isn't locked, but if ur a bluetooth person, better to get the higher qual stuff, had some issues with crossing of signals and suddenly you're talking to someone else.. lol
hasnt happened to me but ive herd a few people bitching about it. |

| I remember when they came out. The design looked cool, but I failed to see what improvements it had over other phones except that it was slim. I'm considering a new phone as well, just want to hear opinions. |

| All phones are basically the same (send/receive calls). It is the looks and the extra features that separates them and makes people want one over another. The Razr happens to be one of the best looking ones on the market right now so it is popular. |

| almost everyone in my company right now is with telus (about 6 employees). My cell and another persons cell has horrible service while the others cell service is perfect in the same spot. Different model phones. my phone is actually newer then the ones that work well, and the other guy with the crappy phone went out yesterday to ditch it for a new one....new one works perfect. There is a big difference in the functionality of some phones compared to others and that is what I look for. My phone has no special features, nor do I want any, I just want one that'll work every where I need it to be. Those who say a phone is a phone is incorrect. |

with cellphones.. you usually get what you pay for.. if you opt to get the free phone or whatever, then you know it isnt going to be as high quality as one which will cost you some extra money. seriously cameras aside.
Generally if you end up paying a little more for your phone, the money is well spent. I know theres people on here that have lemons or just difficult to please but i see a lot of these phones come and go and its the cheap ones i see most often sent away for repair |

lol My Razr V3i owns all!!!
It's the sim card version of the V3c with a few more extras. (The V3i looks way better IMO, it looks like steel (chrome) and lights up blue) I've had my cell for alittle bit now, and I LOVE IT! kicks the other razr's asses by far!
• Updated and streamlined Motorola RAZR V3 design (v3c doesn't have this)
• 1.3 megapixel digital camera with 8x digital zoom, video capture and full screen viewfinder
• iTunes® music software or Motorola’s Digital Audio Music Player** with mini-USB stereo headset (v3c doesn't have this)
• Airplane mode (v3c doesn't have this)
• Hot swappable MicroSD™ memory card (V3c doesn't have this)
• 262K color wallpapers & screensavers on internal display
• 65K color support on external display
• Speaker independent name & digit dialing
• Dedicated browser and messaging keys***
• Integrated Class 1 Bluetooth technology with imaging, printing, peer to peer gaming profiles
• Motorola’s SCREEN3 technology* solution featuring zero-click access to news, sports, entertainment and other program content*
• Rich, pre-loaded or downloaded J2ME™ games, screen savers and MP3 ringtones
The V3c may be missing out on more of these features but i'm not to sure.

If you want the sim card version I would wait for Rogers/Fido to get their new V3i Razr it's even better than the new V3c form Telus and Bell or just buy it from omega cell.com or ebay if you can't wait...but DON'T get the old Razr (V3) no matter what! If you can't wait just get the new Telus or Bell V3c. I posted most of the differences (but not all) between the V3c and the V3i just above. But in short, The V3c and V3i are both better than the old V3.
But I think you were comparing the current Rogers/Fido Razr V3 to the new Telus/Bell V3c in your post? in that case, like bluecargirl666 already mentioned above and The RAZR V3c measures just a slight bigger than the previous models, measuring about
4 x 2 x 0.5-inches and 3.5 ounces, which is also a little bit heavier than the previous RAZR phone. Despite the weight and size different, you cannot notice it at all. The color of the new RAZR is a different too, it's now a gunmetal-gray. The form factor and layout of the RAZR V3c is the same as previous RAZR models, which is a good thing because the design is generally good. Some users do complain that the key's are too flat and not user-friendly at times. The keypad is still backlit along with the usual toggle navigation control in the middle for selecting menu options.
The new RAZR shares the same dull external screen with previous models. The external display is only 80x96-pixels and the internal display is 176x220-pixels. The internal screen is both brighter and more vibrant than past RAZR models. At the top of the external screen is the flashless digital camera, which really needs a flash to work at its best. The external screen is also a great surface for attracting fingerprints, which isn't good at all.
The main different between the RAZR V3c and RAZR V3 is the internal software, Calling quality with the previous RAZR V3 was mediocre, but the good news is that the new V3c greatly improves the quality. Calls are
now virtually crystal clear and excellent sounding. Calls also rarely drop out, but that all depends
on where you are calling from. The speakerphone is also loud enough for car, indoor, or limited
outdoor use, and voice transmission and reception when using it are also very sharp and clear.
Some other really neat features that were either added or refined with the RAZR V3c is Bluetooth support. You can now do file transfers between your RAZR and PC without a hitch, with past
models this would give users a very hard time. With the V3c you also get a 1,000 contact phone book, picture Caller ID, 34 polyphonic ringtones, alarm clock, vibrate ring, world clock, voice recorder, calculator, and other features. There is also a 1.3-megapixel digital camera on the RAZR V3c. |

lol, couldnt have put it better myself.. just got to playing around with one last night at work. I like the style and you dont notice any weight difference, definatly better than any other phone telus offers. but i do hate motorolas setup with menu and programming. samsungs are easier to navigate. But if you're young and part of the technology generation then its not a problem. I get too many idiots in telling me they did something and they cant figure out how to undo it with motorolas :) |

Agreed, I hate motos menu structure. nokia and samsung are intuitive. I typically hate motorolas but the razr is actually a decent phone I use it as my second line, my first one being an 8700 blackberry. |

not just razr, its motorola that don't have the best screens, in that dept, they're far surpassed by the samsung phones.
The best i've found is to pick a background with darker colors and turn the resolution all the way up. Then everything (pictures/videos/menu) looks mint |

True, Razrs are particularly bad because of the buttons on the top screen portion allow for dust to get in there. not covered under warranty but most service centers will open it up and clean it for you for about 35-50 bucks. |
