Hi, my girlfriend just got a ticket for tinted windows in the front...
the cop said if the tints are not removed, and she gets pulled over again in the future, she will get a ticket for not complying with a police officer.
is that possible for a officer to do that? |

You betcha.
Any front window tint is illegal. |

| thanks i knew that, the question at hand is can a different cop give a ticket for failure to comply with a police officer if she gets pulled over in the future |
|

Yes.
If she has outstanding warrents/tickets, she could be arrested and her vehicle impounded as well. Clear the ticket by paying it and fixing the tint. |

You know the rules when you started driving - and you know the penalties. If you get caught, you knew exactly what you were getting into.
It would be different if this law was just put into place, etc.... But it's been around as long as probably all of us have been driving, it's not new. And just like any other law, if you break it, you pay the price.
Personally, I like the fact that the police are given reasons, such as tint/exhaust, which allows them to pull over the poorer drivers when they aren't able to ticket them for dangerous driving/speeding. |

A poorer driver can be someone that cuts people off, speeds around, drives dangerously, but not to the point that a dangerous driving ticket would stick in court.
So the police officer is able to give them something that sticks - something physical like tint, exhaust, etc.... |

Also I heard the Hummer was donated, not purchased.

Yes.. That makes sence..
Such as the turn heading east off yellow head then turning north onto 97th street.. I took the corner at 60.. and then a cop FLYS up behind me and pulls me over.. tryed telling me that I'm speeding... but I Knew for a fact I was only going 60 around the corner .. and Max I sped up to wat 70.. so.. He was stopped behind me for a GOOD 10 minutes.. then gets out of his car.. asks me questions.. then I question him how he came up with the questions then he goes back to his car.. another cop car rolls up.. then like 4 cops are outside my car and wiggling my exhaust.. later.. I get a ticket for a widend exhaust Outlet...
Yeah.. I know my exhaust is big.. but srsly...that's lame.. They're just jelous cause my car handles better then their stupid Boat... :asshole: |

Well, I'm not gonna get you started but I am here to shut you down. You should probably know what you're talking about before you say stuff like this, because you really sound like an idiot.
Tinting is a safety issue. It's a road safety issue, and an officer safety issue. You can't see outside as well with tint and they can't see inside when they pull you over.
Traffic cops don't do drugs, or homicides, so the traffic cop pulling you over for your tint is simply doing his job and nothing more. Matter of fact, you could make his job easier on both him and you if he didn't have to pull you over for something you KNOW is illegal...
The Hummer was donated, as stated above.
Next time, don't sprout off like an idiot and put some thought into your post... ;) |

Last I lived in Edmonton, there were too many traffic cops and not enough police for the real dirty work. I live in Toronto right now and trust me, the last thing people here are concerned about are tints. If it's not a safety issue on Canada's busiest highway (one of the busiest in the world, in fact) and largest city, I seriously doubt it's a safety issue in a sleepy prairie city :)
80km/h on the Whitemud was a joke, too. Is that still the rule? |

ya spent most of the summer in toronto and theres so much gun violence going down there...but people would do at lease around 130 on the highways there and no one cares....
ya the whitemud is still 80:rolleyes: |

Some ppl like me can't wear sun glasses, I've tried, I get a nasty migrane. I find other ways though... not always easy or the safest, but I make it work. |

get a doctors note verifying your condition. then you can tint. Until then its illegal to have ANY tint on your windows..
as far as im aware its because it takes away eye contact between pedestrians and other motorists. a pedestrian is a little unaware of your intentions if he cant see you in the drivers seat... |

Actually I've checked into it, I dunno why, but I did, even with a doctor's note you cannot tint forward of the driver. |

My rule of thumb for proper posting is:
- if you said the words in public & I contemplated arresting you for "Causing a Disturbance" ... then it doesn't belong here.

Ya I know somebody who is allergic to the sun as well.
And my brother... he's not really allergic, but the sun causes his Psoriasis to act up.. lets just say when it gets really bad he gives the lizard guy who has scales tatoo'd all over his body a run for his money, plus it's really painful.
I was thinking of tinting the bottom 8" of my windshield cause I get nasty nasty glare from my hood.
Now the regs say you can't tint it, but you can put decals/stickers on that do not obstruct your vision.... well out of the bottom 12" of my windshield all I see is hood. |
