Markkanen or Morrison? - Click HERE for Original Thread

LeadSled
Who do you think the Oil should be turning to, come playoff time? I've talked to a few people and everyone seems split. Jussi Markkanen or Mike Morrison? Or trade for someone else?

Morrison's stats look great, but remember he got pulled a few times early in the season so didn't get stuck with the losses in his record. Markkanen's played a lot more and has more experience, but personally I don't think he's getting any better.

My vote goes to Morrison, he's cool under pressure and kicks ass in the shootout ( 5-0 :D ) .. I think he could become a great goalie with some more time in the NHL.

go MiMo go

Markkanen is too unreliable.

Morrison has a lot of potential, I think... but right now he is too aggressive. He kicks ass in shootouts because of it but, when there's more than one player on the ice, he constantly gets caught out of position.

I say dump Markkanen's $850,000 salary and trade Peca (waste of $4,000,000) for a good goalie.

Now who's got a couple of good goalies and no good forwards?

Luongo, Kolzig, any Buffalo goalie, where the hell is Khabibulin? Is he hurt? I thought he was in Chicago? There's goalies to be had, Lowe needs to get off his ass and beat Vancouver to the punch though.

I think they put the wrong goalie on waivers.

the oil need to keep morrison he will given some time become a solid starter but he's not quite there yet

the best trade they could reasonably try for is to get Jose Theodore from montreal but what montreal wants in return right now will be a big loss for the oilers.
another great goalie I would like to see in an oilers jersey is Marc Andre Fleury though I doubt Pittsburgh will be willing to let him go

Theodore comes with a huge price tag so that is a no and he is playing like shit :( . Pittsburgh seems committed to keeping Fleury. I think the best alternative is for the Oilers to do their best to land either one of the goalies from Minnesota or Buffalo.

Yes Khabibulin is hurt.

Man, do I feel sorry for Fleury... he's behind the worse defence core in the league (besides the Gonchman). And guess who they got from Edmonton? Cory Cross :smack: That guy should be filling water bottles.

We'll see what happens with Morrison tonight, Markkanen is day to day with the flu.
