I can't find it! - Click HERE for Original Thread

~30oZ~
Do you guys have the link on how to get the second bulbs installed into the clear corners (J-spec) I remember reading a thread on how to install the second bulbs that the US spec cars came with (parking light)...anyone have that link?

~30oZ~
:dunno: anyone?

I did a quick looksie for you on twinturbo.net and found it in the auto-faq. You should really start using it. It's an invaluable resource...

http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewms...p;msg_id=847107

or the easy way

http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewms...p;msg_id=920963

or

BTW, technically, aren't clear corner's illegal in Alberta / Canada?
I also believe the clear tail-lights are illegal too...

Whoa... that might not be what he's looking for. There is a distinct difference between jspec "clear corners" and the corner lamps for the "jspec fascia". They are not the same thing. Unless ~300Z~ got a jspec fascia recently, I assume he is talking about the clear corner lenses that are the same shape as his OEM. (correct me if I'm wrong...)

Totally clear tail-lights are illegal AFAIK, especially if they don't even have a red reflector.

Not sure about "clear corners" on the front per se. As far as illumination goes, white and amber are acceptable on the front of the vehicle. (but not blue, green, red or any other ghey-ass ricer colors people might want on the front of their cars...)

That's right, there is a difference between the Jspec corner's and the corner's on the newer jspec fascia....

As far as the legality part, that's what I thought. I believe there was a newspaper article in the Journal's wheel's section by a local police officer that talked about the legal issues with clear tails, corners, coloured bulbs. I'll have to track it down...

Sorry. My bad...

So you have the normal original fascia, but you got J-Spec clear corners.... hmmm.

I think you may want to talk to VorpalZ (Rob) because I believe he has totally clear corners and may have run into the same issue...

I think he has the newer version of the clear corners (his have two holes and don't look the same) but thanks for the advice. I'll PM him.:)

Here's what I have: (stock on left, J-spec on right)

And the bulbs:

My J-spec clears have two identical bulbs (1157 12V5W) the front one is the flasher, the rear for the park light. I have a Silvervision bulb in the flasher, it looks smaller than the rear 1157 in the pic, but is rated the same. Originally, my J-spec clears came with an orange 1157 bulb, but I didn't like the orange hue through the clear lens.

Still unsure of what you need to do, can you post a pic?

Thanks,

MixManMash
Ok, I think I got it...

Your light assembly only has 1 hole for 1 socket where the normal USDM/CDM one's have 2 holes.

I think you need to get a new socket that supports a dual filament bulb and fits the new corners. Then you need to do some re-wiring to use the new socket and you should be good to go.

~30oZ~
Yup i'll post some pics in just a little bit, i was going to use the stock lights and wiring.:dunno:

~30oZ~
Ok here's the pics. I think i'm missing the rubber hose parts? Vorpalz did you get those clears from Coz?

sorry for the big/bad pics...I used my cell phone lol

~30oZ~
i guess i'm just going to drill it out, I hope it works out for me :( :dunno:
