i'll start it off since i havn't seen any posts about racing, both legal and illegal!
Well it all started about 3months ago when my sister was seeing this guy named jay! I told him about my car and said that i was putting in a new streetported motor in it! He asked me what kind of motor? I told him that it was a 1.3L rotary. When i told him that the guy starts making fun of me and my car for having such a small motor! So i told him that when the roads clear up and my motor is broken i'll have him a little race! He said sure and that he was gonna kick my ass, seeing how he has a 88 5.0 mustang!
Well the time came a couple of weeks ago and he pulls up in his mustang! I ask him what mods he has and the only thing he told me was that it had a straight pipe exhaust and a short throw shifter! I look inside his car and the first thing i see is a, i kid you not, NASCAR limited edition 50th anniversary HURST shift knob! I almost shit my pants laughing so hard! So we drive out to the "spot" and we both line up and my buddy counts to 3! I drop the clutch at about 3500 rpm, right around my peak TQ! Right off the bat i had a 1/2 car lead. I rev it up to about 7500rpm and shift to 2nd. Now i have about a car length lead and im startin to pull! Shift at 7500 again and throw it into 3rd spinning my rear tires a bit! gaining a bigger lead with every rpm. By the time 4th gear came around i had about a3 car lead and was doing about 150km or so!
At the end i looked over at him and the only thing he could do was look over at me for about 2 seconds. Till this day he doesn't say a word to me! I swear to god it was pure comedy! :D :thefinger: |

| Well i try not to race on the street for safety reasons but there was this one guy who thought his civic was so hot he had a kit and mild engine work done to it,he claimed it had 160 hp. So i thought id teach this little punk a lesson i was driving my 2000 neon with a c.a.i and a performance muffler so i casually drive up beside him and he lets go, then i did and his face still makes me laugh to this day when he saw my taillights getting smaller! It was a lesson that needed to be taught. He sold the car a couple of months later. :D |

and he had nothing done to it, while the RSX had full Greddy exhaust and injen intake.

oh & a tip to you guys, authorities DO look around on this board & take it very seriously, how do I know??
I once posted up a race I had with an RSX & where I was (cuz the rsx is a DC5AB member, i wanted to say hi)
the next weekend, i see an unmarked Buick Grand National (it looked MEAN) cruising my area, police cruisers going around the same road AND a checkstop at the end of the strip a week or two after.
i'm sure they were all on the look out for my car & that RSX during all those times
with crazy ass insurance, i can't afford (literally) to take chances & f0ck around like that anymore (was like 1 month after i got my car), so now it's ALL at the track for me

I'm sure most authorities figure that we're all gang related or at least thugs and drug dealers! Racing is just an excuse for them to start harrassing us! If we post our "races" on the boards here, your asses may HEAT up! Think about it, Jimbo (AlbertaRC) has revealed himself and you can stand assured that there are more if at least one has said they're on here! Keep your battle stories to PM's and instant messages... not the open forum to get yourself in a possible jam! :blink: |

SlowAzz, i'm not sure about those stats, i'm pretty sure the new sir is a high 15's 1/4 Mile car, the neon stats are about right. Just from my experience I fount that the neon RT wasnt that close of a race, but on the otherhand if the RT was significantly modded then it migh get the upper hand on the new SIR. Just my 2 cents. |

| They should have a track open everyday for street legal racing, so if people wanted to race, they could take it to a place where it is safe to do so, kinda like bud, but it would be open more than once a month to the public. Just throwing in my two cents :dunno: |

This idea has been tossed around MANY times. Bottom line is that it would just cost too much money. In my opinion other than a select few RC's there dosn't seem to be any support to get more track time or make other arrangments for legal events. I read about racing everyday and how bad it is and how the media portrays it as the devil yet no one seems to be doing anything about it. If the media spent as much time showing the legal side as they did the illegal side maybe a few more people would be off the street and at the track......that is of course if it's ever open. It really pisses me off about Bud's agreement with the airport about not allowing drag racing. |
