| I have my 3 back windows tinted at 5% and I had ym two front windows tinted at 35% but had them ripped off, and I am now going to re-tint my 2 front windows but befor I did I was wondering what you guys have your 2 front windows tinted at and if you have had any problems with the cops? I live in leduc and the cops dont care but the by-law officer does so I was just curious to see what you guys have your windows tinted as. was thinking about going one step farker than 35% so I think like 16% or something. |

not sure what i have mine tinted at but theyre dark...i was just curious about your bylaw officer, does he write you a ticket when your car is parked or do they pull you over?
sorry if i cluttered your thread:confused: |

| i have 17% on he front only one ticket |

| I'd suggest 20-35% on the front depending how dark you like it. |

I dunno how by-l;aw can ticket you for it. Leduc shouldn't have any bylaws about tint. It's a provincial law so the RCMP or when you got to Edmonton the EPS would pull you over.
Just never go North of Legal, some of the Westlock RCMP's are libal to impound your car for that. |

No he pulls you over, but he just waits on the side of the road for somone to drive by with something wrong on the car and then gives you a ticket.

All what I know is he pulled me over and gave me two choices, either take the tint off or get a ticket.
and I think I am going to go with something between 15%-20% tint  |

| Are you sure he's by-law and not a special constable? |

| Well it sais this on the car; "City of Leduc" on the trunk and then on the side it sais "City of Leduc By-Law" or someting along those lines. I know it sais By-law though, maybe he was just saying he could give me a ticket, but maybe he really cant, whatever it was I didnt want to risk him bluffing. |

| I just booked my tint appointment, but I am debating wether to get 17% tint or 35% tint, I had 35% befor and it was okay but I wanted a bit darker, and the guy told me that going with 17% there would be a greater risk of getting a ticket so I am still debating, can you guys post a picture of your tint and what % it is, that would help me out greatly in deciding, also how much is a tint ticket, $109? |

| I've got 35% on the fronts and have never had a ticket. Even when cops ask to roll the window up so they can check it. |

| Just an FYI. Any tint on your front windows is illegal in Alberta. If you tint them knowing this, you better not bitch about the tint ticket you will get later. |

how much is a ticket? $115 like everything else?
i wouldn't bitch about a ticket. maybe try to get it reduced, but if you know your in the wrong, why argue. i know my exhaust, HID, clear rear signals are all trouble spots, but if i got ticketed there would be no point in argueing.
a cop followed me for 15 mins at least today through residentials, just me and him. saw him typing something in his computer, probably my plate and then he drove off. he saw my huge exhaust, clear signals, HIDS, and he didn't even bother pulling me over. just drive responsibly and 90% of the time they don't care. |

| oh no dont worry, I know its illegal, thats why I had to pull it off in the first place but I was just wondering if the ticket was less than re-tinting it, so that way I would just take the ticket instead of taking it off, but since it is more than the cost of putting it on, if I get the option to take off the tint instead of a ticket I will. |

| Just roll down your windows when you get pulled over, and if the cop askes you to roll them back up so he can check, I'm pretty you don't have to. They can't search your car or ask you to get out of your car, or roll up your windows, unless they have some sort of just cause. |

What? :dunno:
I know every now and again the sherwood park RCMP will set something up to catch people comming back in from Edmonton with illegally tinted windows. Even something like 35 is bad news if you happen to get a cop on his bad day, others will turn a blind eye because it's too much paper work. Careful on those slow days. |

| i have 35% but i roll the windows down when i'm driving the car, as its an summer car but also when i see the cops they go down quick, don't need those b.s tickets, but they usually turn a blind eye as i'm not in a rice rocket, just jokes, but a true american car  |

His just cause is seeing you drive by with tinted windows and then pulling you over for that. |
