TurboXs Type HRFL BOV - Click HERE for Original Thread

Zazam
I just bought the TubroXs Type HRFL BOV and have yet to install it. Just wanted to get any input on those of you guys that have to installed on your cars on any pros and cons.

redbaron303
I believe my BOV is an older modled Turboxs.... it was bought from autobraun if that makes any difference.... but it sounded great and seemed to perform really good to, considering it's the only one I"ve had experience with....

THEONE
Sounds LOUUUUUUD! Seems to be good quality and holds up to and over 35psi!

blk240sx

Everyone I've talked to says they're awesome equipment and I have turboxs and they're great@!

RezaREX
I've heard TurboXS is quite good quality. blk240sx I'd like to here some comments backing up your "turboxs sux" comment.

Why don't you go race a crx down Whyte ave, maybe if you go fast enough you can catch a clue........

Your friend likes to run extremely rich between shifts does he?
When he starts stalling when he lets off coasting down to stop lights, he will realize that he needs a bypass valve and not a blowoff valve. That is if he cares about performance.

Nightstalker
the vtec vesion of that little way to get clothes of chicks thing is a WAY better one..

Zazam
Hey PearlyWhiteTSI, is that you Blaine? If it is i'll be in at the end of March to get my BC, BOV and my pillar gauges installed by Andrew. If this isn't Blaine then totally disregard this post...[B]

blk240sx
hey red barron how is it that u know i dont got a turbo for all u know i could have the sr20det engine with a huge fothafuqin turbo that will blow the doors of your car oh wait you dont hav eon cuz you crashed it................and andrew is one m,y my best friends and if you coul dreal you would have seen the "jj" ...

redbaron303
I'm sure you do have an sr20det... with a huge turbo, just ike everyone else on the boards... in your dreams! I'll see it when I believe it, oh and bud you don't know me so don't tell me about my cars, and whats up with them. I didnt crash anything idiot... it's called a hit and run but I guess you're to dumb to know what that is! I'm not getting into it for the 240th time with you, a person that I don't know... take some engrish classes, try typing so ppl can understand you!

BTW what is a dreal?! I don't thikn I'veever heard of that word before.... Oh and I don't know who red barron is... I'm redbaron, there is a difference but you probably don't care!

Basically what ever man... say what you will and believe what you want... if you're man enough I'll take you on at budpark, and if you can't handle that then whatever, it's not a big deal to me that you think you can beat me or even if you actually could... I'm not racing for prizes and money just for the fun of it!

RezaREX
Just ignore him Chris. Fighting with someone who obviously had trouble passing 3rd grade english is not worth your time. Shit, probably not worth your gas at the track either. He does seem to be an avid street racer and could have been drunk while writing that post, put two and two together and maybe Darwin will work his magic. Hey Mr. 240 so do you actually have this "fothafuqin" turbo you speak of???

redbaron303
NP man... I don't recall meeting you, but I'm sure I will... and like I said, I would be glad to race you win or lose, but at budpark ;) I couldn't tell if that was sarcastic or not, the first post you made but I guess it was! Anyways it's all good... just please take some time to fill out the missing letters from your post, I find it actually hard to decipher sometimes.... April 1st I have the insurance, and my TURBOXS bov goin on the car... hopefully :)

SRBURG13
Nah, no SR20DET in that car. Cause I know I was the only one with it this summer and fall :D And from his race stories, it seemed as though it was dry pavement, and when there was dry pavement, it was just me! If I am terribly wrong, I'll just duck in this corner. But this is just my knowledgable guess. Right now there are only 3 completed swaps in the city. And 3 soon to be finished. As far as I know.

BTW, what is your setup Blk240?

1mns13
I find that I would prefer a recirculated blowoff valve as well, because of all the consequences mentioned by Blaine. I am presently experiencing all of them everyday.
Jared

blk240sx
i dont got nethintg done my car yet but im planning on the sr20det swap and a huge turbo with a front moundintercooler and bov's and shit 2 guyy all in time though

SRBURG13
Jared, you've been experiencing the problems? Reg warned me of them, cause the Z's have it all the time. Where is your valve located? I'm sure it make a very minor different, but I haven't had any of those problems yet. Hmmm, and I've never really heard of other SR's having that problem. :dunno:

redbaron303
I had the bov and the boost controller on the other Z and never any idle, stalling out, or running problems... ya know, it was completely perfect, and that's the same with the new car too.... I'm gonna get that bov installed and hopefully I won't have any problems..... I thinhk turbosmart or turboxs make a bov that doesn't release into the atmosphere (no sound) and doesn't screw around w/ the a/f ratio either... I still like the sound though!

1mns13
Aaron, I mounted it in the hot pipe, just as I seen in my Hyper Rev and Options videos. When it gets warmer, I will route it back into the intake.

SRBURG13
REally, hmmmm, weird. I have it on the cold pipe and haven't noticed anything. Hmmm, I hope nothing changes, cause I LOVE that BOV sound.

Chris, those companies' BOV's are both atmospheric and re-circulating. They just swap the end out with another that can allow it to put the released air back into the intake, so the engine isn't short any air that it calculated to be in the engine, otherwise running it rich. Same with mine. I just change the end (which is a 2 inch horn right now) to an adapter that sends a hose into the intake. *phhhhheeewwww*.

PEACE

redbaron303
Aaron.... my understanding of what you just wrote w/out seeing the setup is that you still get the sound but route the air back into the intake?! I think I'm a little lost on what you just said! You'll have to show me when the car is out on the streets.....

SRBURG13
Mine is not recirculated. Just out to the atmosphere!

Woooooo woooooo

PEACE

redbaron303
Goodstuff man... same as me :) Just more fun that way B)

TyPhOOnSliPPerY
yeah alot more fun if you dont run into problems ......I have been lucky with my TXS RFL BOV .....No stalls or shakes or rough idle .....just nice sound and a little mroe fun out of my car .....if anything starts to go wrong though I will defiantely check into a recirculating BOV like the Turbo-XS Type-H r34 .. I have heard alot of good about that

but to cut a long story short .....The BOV is easy to install with the adapter kit from TurboXS. Need to plug the recirculating intake back into the engine and bolt it up where stock one was and exchange a hose and you are done. Recommend an Air/Fuel controller if you are doing anything more than just going for the sound or you could be in trouble.

Yeah man thanks for the input. And yes I do have an air to fuel ratio gauge, because along with the BOV I bought the turbosmart dual stage boost controller, going to run a high of 10psi or so, and a low of about 6 or 7. Also with it I bought at the same time a boost and lean/rich gauge. Couldn't afford the Apex-I controller as of yet, still need a little more flow for some tires.

TyPhOOnSliPPerY
yeah those are quite pricy and to be honest I couldnt install one myself
