Upgrading to Full Exhaust - Click HERE for Original Thread

4thGenLude
Alright so when i bought my car.. the previous owner put a foldgers can exhaust tip retty much but i never did get around to taking it off..

anyways.. yesterday i finally got a ticket for it..now time to do something..

im looking into buying a full catback exhaust..
i need something that sounds really good deep and throaty so to speak..
somethiung possibly close to the sound of a WRX STI.. something sexy sounding

should i just throw on a highflow cat.. some 2.5'' piping and a high performance muffler? would that sound nice? i want people around me to be able to hear it when i punch it.. but not as loud as my fuckin rice can on right now

i thought you guys would know what can make a prelude sound nice anyways..

keep in mind.. i want to keep the outlet at a reasonable size that wont get me another ticket..thx

Apexi world wide

I have 5zigen fireball on mine now.. not so great..

the best sounding exhausts are typically manufactured ones, since there's actually some R&D involved. That being said, the best sounding exhaust for a Prelude imo is probably the Greddy Evo.

4thGenLude
so should i just buy a whole kit or do the seperate parts (highflow cat, piping, muffler)

and why?

Nis13
its cheaper to buy performance parts highflo cat converter or w.e you want choose a a muffler take it to a muffler shop gethtem to do custom piping for you straight as possible and mandrel bent elbos no crush bending. defeats the purpose in my opinion if your gonan do it up might as well not cheap out.

4thGenLude
so what kind of 'high performance parts' are you talking about..
sorry i know nothing about this kind of shit

i dont like the greddy evo, and it doesnt solve the exhaust size problem. really the only thing you can do is go stock. i think the stock exhaust sounds nice , even if you want get a high flow cat and bigger piping...my exhaust is stock and it sounds throaty as a mother fucker and almost as loud as a coffee can in VTEC.

Nis13
so your straight pipe from your headers (witha few bends obviously) and high-flot cat? or..

4thGenLude
thats the plan..
i just gotta pretty much find out what kind of muffler i wanna throw on now..

Nis13
o0o magnaflow

GQsmooth
thermal

4thGenLude
god damnitt so many decisions..
this sucks:)

2ndgenlude
i like the tanabe exhausts, either that or RSR. you could also do full 2.5" piping and high flow cat and use magnaflow/stock muffler

try this site

I have the RS-R exmag on mine... its very quiet, but has a nice deep sound when throttled

bearinalude
rs-r seems like a pretty good choice if u don't want a big outlet, but they seem to have a rust problem tho...

littledan

Nis13
are those 2 resonators i see?

littledan
yup that 2 resonators on the b pipe and 1 replacing the cat. and cops would still give me tickets. foxkers

Nis13

When I did my exaust I went to Tim's Muffler in Leduc, went 2.5 inch from the CAT back to a magnaflow muffler, I picked up the , muffler from pro drag, was like 200 - 250 and Tim's did the rest of the work for 170 bux approx...all mandrel bent pipe, looks pretty good, my mechanic even complimented it...:D

Figured I'd pass along mine as an FYI:D

Nis13
how far is Leduc again..? worth the drive?

92_WhItE_H23
