Get some mean Dunlop winter tires. They are your best bet for Rally type driving and still streetable. But they won't perform on the street beyond what a good winter tire would + they will wear down fast.
Rally tires are so much differet than street tires you cannot get the best of both worlds. So choose one, and sacrifice the other.
I also recommend Green Diamond tires for your Rally type driving. http://greendiamondtire.com/
They are great for winter too. |

| you may want to checkout tirerack.com to look at reviews of tires to get an idea of what you may want to purchase. They are also awesome for a specialty sized tire, I got my 315/35/17's (rear), and 275/40/17's (fronts) from them and have nothing but good things to say about them (duty sucks though). |

| Did u wear through your 06 sti stock tires already? As for tires are you looking for lo profile or regular tires. |

| I think it was blizzaks that hold up preety good for winter tires |

| blizzak's aren't so great offroad. Get the Green Diamonds .. probably the best tire you could use unless you got like true rally tires - which are illegal because they have long studs on them if I recall correctly. |

| I don't see how you're going to find a tire that does everything GREAT. The really good "snow/ice" tires actually suck on dry pavement, and vice versa. |

| yah i realy just want a good rally tire that can handle street, not an in between thing, just a good rally tire that dosent blow on the street, and as for snow i figure a good rally tire would be good in snow, but if not ill just go buy some of thoses michleian x ice or somthing, but im realy considering those green diamond |

The Green Diamond is phenomenally better than just about any mainstream winter tire like the X-Ice etc...
They literally will not sell you less than 4 tires because of the grip difference between them and regular tires.
If you ran Green Diamonds on one side of your car and say X-Ice on the other - your handling would be whack.
If for some reason or another you opt against the Green Diamonds - I also recommend Michelin Pilot Alpin Sports. They are an excellent gripping winter tire but have much better road handling ability than the X-Ice I find. I have used both myself. |
