As for these kids owning Ferraris at age 18....I bet its 100% bullshit. Even if someone won a million, at age 18 insurance would be almost impossible to get. YES, insurance companies can refuse to insure you. And I bet they would reject a policy for a 18 year old with a Ferrari.
Business or not, a 18 year old could not afford a Ferrari. That would be tough even for a drug dealer.

You have to be able to get insurance. If everybody refused you could call IBC and they would force somebody to insure you. WOuld it be cheap hell no, but still it's law you have to be able to get insurance. |

If I was a multimillionaire I would put like 2Mil away in a high interest accoung under trust for if I get into an accident funds could then be pulled from that account. In essance somehow find a legal way to be my own insurance company.
Why make payments when I could earn interest.
If your a really good driver, so if you say smash up somebodies car say once every 10 years... dent it up to the point of it being iffy, settle by replacing the car heh. Injries... new laws, pay just above that, so like $6000 for a soft tissue, and asses evey other situation case by case.
I mean it wouldn't be hard as you're only covering your own cars. |

well, the only way i could afford my car was for my parents to lend me 25% of the value of my car so i could actually afford to buy it without a loan. on top of that, i started saving/investing the money i got since i was around 10 or so. on top of that, i worked my ass off for about 5 months or so and made about 15k saving around 10k. after all that, i still only has about 30k.
since you added the high school part, i dont really know how thats possible unless they work part time and never spend anything. either that or a big inheritence. |

Through who? Meloche-Monnex quoted me 5500 a year for full coverage with a 250 deductable on a 99 Corvette, I'd think that would be placed as a higher risk factor than an E46 sedan.

That still isn't earning the money or doing it 100% on your own though. Obviously the money you got starting at age 10 was given to you and not earned if it was enough to invest and actually be worth anything. It is still impressive, I just don't believe it when this other guy claims they can have 50+ grand by the time these guys are finished highschool to buy M3's or Ferarri's 100% on their own. It is not possible without some serious help IMO. |

Well these kids were not rich 2 years ago, I used to work at a grocery store with them. They quit working there and worked for a friend who started his own company, and they split the money an even 3 ways. Then the original company owner got greedy, and started paying them way less, so they broke off and made there own company.
But I was wrong you guys, he backed out at the last second and instead of getting a 87 testarossa he got a 05 BMW M3 hardtop. So right now he has 2 M3's sitting outside of his house. A little later on I will take pictures (dunno when though).
They seriously paid for these cars completely themselves, im sure some of you guys won't believe this. And I admit I wouldn't either if I hadn't seen the cars, been in them, seen there business, how it operates etc etc... |

Its believeable, A guy I used to work with in construction, had a friend from highschool who started up a business for selling software wholesale online and by the time he was done school, owns a house, and a Dodge Viper and other shennanigans. He was paying his two staff roughly 80bucks an hour, then cut that down and they too left. But ya its totally doable at such a young age. Young Entrepreneurship. :thumbup: |

It took me a week to get those guys together.... myhorse was supposed to come out too, but his TR is still in Cowtown. Next time, I guess.
