Hey guys, I'm choosing between a few 98 Civic Si's and 1.6/1.7EL's. Assuming similar prices, but the EL's having higher mileage, which is the better buy? Which engines are "better"? Handling? Fuel Economy? Maintenence? etc etc
Thanks! |

Sounds like your decision really comes down to your preference for a 2 door (Si) vs. a 4 door (EL). Because most of those other aspects you mention for those two models should be pretty similar. |

| The only differance is cosmetic. One thing about the EL though. Its a car that is only offered in Canada. Which means there is very little aftermarket options for say headlights or body kits. The rear stuff is all interchangeable with a 96-2000 civic. |

| Is it a DOHC or SOHC? |

| I am pretty sure the ELs are a d16y8, which means SOHC. |
