Quick question, I clean the living shit out of my car. I apply a coat of klasse sealant glaze once every 2-3 weeks throughout the summer (strip it of everything when the summer hits and start from scratch).
My question: if I'm going to fill in some rock chips with some touch up paint, would it be in my best interest to apply the touch up paint when the car is wax/sealant free? will the paint not bind as well to the metal/paint/etc?
just wanna know whether or not I can do it now without waiting until the first wash of the year.
thanks in advance.

The spot on the car should be free of any wax.
As well, you should make sure you give the paint time to cure before waxing that spot.
There is no reason you can't strip the wax down in the area and touch it up now. |

gotcha.
sweet. I'll wait till it warms up a bit more. there's a thin layer of dust on the car (don't cover it while it's in the garage) so I don't wanna get the garage wet n stuff.
and in order to get rid of the wax, I'd have to apply the klasse all in one and then clay bar the spot to make sure it's free of everything before I can apply the paint.
think I just might wait till the first wash of the season.
thanks :) |

some teqnique tips...
when applying the touch-up, TrevorK is right btw, but also try to use a fairly sturdy brush that is just about as wide as the chip... and don't BRUSH... just dab it in... if it doesn't look right, wipe it off quick and do it again.
and yeah, let it cure |
