Toyota Soarer retractable metal roof? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Oilersguy
I was reading on another site about the 2nd gen Soarers and it mentions a retractable metal roof. Has anyone seen any of these at auction and if so, how reliable is the roof? Thanks.:dunno:

MZ20 Soarer there was a very limited Production of the AeroCabin. I believe only 500 produced in 1989. Very rare. But I don't believe its unheard of at auction, And I'd be willing to bet good money it won't be cheap like normal MZ20's are.

I have found nothing that shows a Z30 Aerocabin (1991). However I do believe Soarer's 2000 and 2001 were available with a electric hard top.

I couldn't find anything regarding the reliabilty of the roof, its a toyota, so I would assume its good, may give people trouble in cold weather.

Christian will like this. He can tell you more about finding them at auction.

Here some Soarer history for anyone inclinded to read more:

And here the Compleat Soarer Production data:

8903 only E-MZ20-HJPVZ 7M-GTEU CP Auto 4FC 3.0GT-Aerocabin 1460 1460

So it look like they only made them for March of 89 and they are all 3.0L Auto's

wow, judging by those pics I can see why they were never put into heavy production. Quite ugly. I guess I will stick to drooling over the 91's for awhile. :blue:
