I found when I was recently looking for a fridge that Costco and Futureshop/Best Buy had the best, everyday low prices.
The Brick/Leons might offer the best payment plans (IE: No payment until 2007/2008) however, if you are in need of that. |

Try home depo, they have some good kitchen set ups, but it does break down to your budget and your needs, such as how much you acctualy cook.
Try to not buy based on budget alone if its a house youll be in for 10 years or more when it comes to a kitchens major appliences, cuz if you plan to get matching fridge/range/dishwasher then you can really increase the appeal of your kitchen over all, plus its something you use alot so dont be cheap. |

For my new place I bought all of my stuff from Coast Wholesale Appliances .
Just like Trail Appliance only they were cheaper for every item I purchased. One that I remember off hand, my fridge had a regular price of 3200 at Trail and they told me they could give it to me for 2800. Coast was 2500.
I can't remember the name of the sales guy I dealt with, but I was very happy with the service and the price. |

| I can give you a discount at the brick if you need. You would have to deal with a sales manager (i think) as my company has a deal with them. |

| On major appliances, I like the payment plans so the brick or leons. Home depot seems to be pretty good. Not sure if I would want to buy a fridge from futurshop or best buy... |

| Maybe Give Sears Home a try. They had a plan where you can put it on their credit card and pay over 24 payments with no interest for real. Their fridges are pretty good for reliability according to consumer reports. No problems yet. |

I went with an Amana fridge. 25 cf. It isn't hard to get that high in price. And I think the TV ones are closer to 5-6 grand. |

| Trail appliances always beat the competition! And all appliances were clearly explained to me on the various options and what their purpose is. BTW I purchased an entire set from them for a new house.....I checked everywhere, Sears, Brick, Future Shop, Home Depot and Costco. Trail beat them all! |

You should have tried Coast then. :p I was going to buy from Trail until I went to Coast and the beat Trail's pricing on every item I bought. |

I like Best Appliances on 156th ave just north of 111st. Over 10 years I've bought 2 fridges, 2 freezers, a stove and a washer & dryer. I find the prices fair with no silly sales gimmics, the deliveries on time and the one time that I needed repairs, very propt. :)
A word of warning from the big name places; often times the service calls are contracted out to other companies so the work is not the best and you have to wait a long time for a booking. :(
I waited 4 weeks before I could get my dish washer fixed by Trail. When my washer broke down, Best was there with in 2 days. |

| I used to work at Future Shop, and the commission that the employees got on the applicances were crazy. anything over a grand, they were given 200 dollars. so on a 6 thousand dollar fridge, 1200 is commission. |

How many years ago was that. First thing is I dont think what the sales guy makes is relivent and second I can tell you right now that there is not a single product in the entire store that a sales guy can sell and make 1200 dollars on. For what its worth Best Buy doesnt sell appliances. The Fridge with the TV's in them run about 3500 dollars or so. |

| That was 6 months ago, ask a sales rep to give you a price on the computer, look on the lower left hand corner there will be a number and it will be flashing. if there is one asterisk its the sale price plus 10 % and if there is two asterisks thats the commission that the rep would get. I dont know about best buy selling applicances, since I worked at futureshop..... |

WOW, being that Im a 5 year Vet of the company I can tell you that you clearly dont have a clue. Your way off base on how the commision works, you obviously dont have a clue what those numbers on the screen actually ment and its clear that you also dont read to well. The information you just stated on a web forum are grounds for them to take legal action against you. When you sign your employee package it states that there is information you cannot disclose, and commision, commision structure and computer operations is part of that. Im not saying they will do anything because Im sure they have far better things to do then mess with some guy who wasnt even paying attention when he was on the pay roll, little lone now, but why you would blatently give them something on you is beyond me. What an idiot |

I dont need examples, I know how it works. I was pointing out that it was obvious that you didnt know what you were talking about and that its flat out wrong to be discussing things like what people are getting paid for what they sell, esspecially when the info its based on is wrong. Either way I think this is the end of this little discussion as it really has no real bearing on this thread. Sorry about the temporary hi-jacking |
