I don't think he asked if he should do it. He asked if it's do-able. Could be for a number of reasons. :asshole:

I would advise against doing it. There is NO advantage to the older motor, plus you would have to convert back to OBDO wiring which means changes to injector wiring among other things.. D series engines are extreamly cheap.. Just get a new 92-95 engine.

I think that we could help save him money by telling him not to. Seriously man dont upgrade civics. Not worth it.

Turbo_Civic92
yeah im with u guys not worth it and plus its like what 1200 bucks for a B16A2.

Nightstalker
exactly.

Turbo_Civic92
the B-Series Motor swap is easy and very afforable

Statement was: "WTF? Thats why near stock civics kick the crap out of the Nissan's that show up at the NECC auto-x events, right?"

------- And it was proven that this statement was false. End of story. They did not "kick the crap" out of the Nissans.

Yes. Your Nissan owns all other forms of transportation. I bow to the awesomeness that is Nissan.

K wtf,
my friend blew his motor in one civic, and he just wants to swap a motor in a diff civic back into his so he can drive. Dont have to be :asshole: and start flaming, and try to help instead.

Nightstalker
put a b16 in man.. for what its going to cost its more then worth it.

The thread was split because 3/4 of the posts were ppl getting their panties in a bunch over Civics vs. Nissans.

If you see the new thread, that is where all the off-topic posts went.

I'm not sure if there is a law against putting in an engine that is older than the car but it's something I've heard before.

Either way, if you need something to just drive around, anything will do.
If you're thinking of future potential & upgrades, then you will be better off doing some research into how a D-series engine compares to a B-series (or maybe even K-series!) before you buy/swap the engine.
It will save you some hassle in the long run to do the swap just once.

baker_jeff
B16 hauls. I'd say its worth it.
