Female double standard in regards to sexual purity:
Men can do as they wish, women got to stay "pure."

i dunno i would agree in some cases? i think that its just how guys see girls most guys wouldnt want to be with a girl whos been around the block IMO.....but girls cant tell if a guys "pure"...guys can

I'm not sure I understand why one's ability to tell makes a difference. The double standard is guys THINK its ok for them to sleep around as much as they want, but not so for whatever girl they are with. It doesn't get much more *double standard* than that.
Guys in general kinda do their own kind a disservice by degrading and rediculing promiscous (sp) woman and the whole stereotype with that. How many times do you think you may have actually seen more action if it were not for girls reluctant to reveal the fact that they were interested in sex out of fear of "the label"? |

I don't think guys or girls should be whoring it. Sex gets far too overused by both sides these days (says the geriatric).

as a girl, i hate that double standard. why is it that when a guy is a whore, he gets complimented, or nobody says anything; but when a woman sleeps with as many, or less, she is talked about, and called whore, slut, etc?
I am guessing it is from the generations past when the wife was to be a virgin until she was married, and the only reason to have sex was for children.

Girl's don't want guys like that either. to answer your comment terry, Yes, we know when a guy has been around. Girls talk a lot more than guys about that kind of thing. We know all about the double standard. Some girls don't care though, if the guy is "nice", or whatever.
I don't think there should be a double standard, but it will never change unless the women start speaking up, and dating more like men in that regards. |

It's a shame that there is a double standard, IMO if you expect your guy/girl to be "pure" then you better as hell be "pure" too.
Otherwise it's just hypocritical. |
