Redline Water Wetter - Click HERE for Original Thread

TurboBlueNX
I just picked up two bottles of this stuff yesterday, but now I'm thinking I need more.
Should I run:
two bottles of RL Water wetter, fill the rest up with H2O?..
two bottles of RL Water Wetter, approx 15% Anti-Freeze, rest with water?
Buy more RL Water Wetter?...
What's the best combo here?...
I fI run the RL WW with H2O, won't the H2O evaporate or does the RL WW stabilize it?...

Marximus
I'd feel a lot better running some coolant to avoid corrosion.
I run a 25C/75W mixture. I'll throw in a bottle of WW next year to see if it will take down the temps. But safe to say that 25C/75W with a bottle of WW is plenty enough. I hear that stuff is basically soap that doesnt foam, so I'd probably stay away from using 2 bottles unless you're overheating a lot.
Is your turbo water cooled?

TurboBlueNX
Yes, my turbo is water cooled.
Funny thing is, the guys at Xtreme Machine have the same sort of product made by VP Racing Fuels, and they told me to run with one bottle of that and water!...
I'll do the 25C/75W and a bottle of WW and see, I have an extra bottle of WW if you're interested Mark.

just a little correction marky... water wetter does not help keep temperatures lower... not really anyway. what is supposed to do is help with quicker cool down. you know what i mean? like after you turn off the car.
and guys... i'd be careful with the 75W. this is canada not the states. so if your car is not in a heated environment during winter i'd run more coolant. definately NOT worth the risk. think about how much "power" freezing water has if it can lift and crack concrete.
if you're having overheating problems address the cooling components... ie. rad, fan, and/or pump. just remember if at cruising speeds the car cools fine then your rad is fine. if it heats when stopped in traffic the culprit is the fan. also with your modded front fascia look into the possibility of "recirculating" hot air. i.e. air that has been pulled through the rad by the fan then coming around and doing a full circle only to be pulled through the rad again.
cya

the water wetter is suppose to provide rust and corrosion protection with plain water.
i hope what they say is true, cuz i that's what i'm running rite now.
i've noticed the engine temp to be much lower with the water wetter rather than using only water.

Marximus
Actually Sam, it removes the electrical "tension" in the water so it makes contact with more surface area and flows easier. Your coolant will transfer heat more efficiently both in the water jacket of your engine and in the radiator, so temps should go down, in theory anyways.
I run 75w/25c because I don't drive in the winter, I wouldnt' be too comfortable being that agressive in the winter.
Andy, you're not having overheating problems are you?
I'm in for that bottle.

CYA
hehe... yeah that's the theory but it didn't hold up in real world testing. at least that's the results of several tests in various magazines. same with mine... i didn't notice a change either.
even though you don't drive the car in winter mark you'll still have to watch the mixture cause your car is "in" winter. unless of course like i said it's kept warm.
did you get a temp gauge on your car yet?
cya

TurboBlueNX
I don't drive me BlueBomber in the winter either.
Well, the only thing I've noticed is there seems to be alot of heat being thrown off the motor when I open the hood. I bought the WW as an added reliability decision. Anything that can aid in reliability for &#3620 I'll gladly take seeing as the stock cooling system was designed to handle 140HP
The temp gauge says down, but it seems to be bubbling the paint slightly on my hood.
Hey Sam, how big is that jerry can of yours and does it have a long spout?, the reason I can't use a typical jerry can without a spout is because of my fuel cell... Thanks.

Marximus
My programmable computer has a coolant temps. I usually run around 93C with about max 98C during long idles and I've once hit over 100C on a very hot day with spirited highway driving, a little on the high side but still not in the danger zone. My computer has a temp limit set at 107.
Several Miata owners have had good results with water watter taking benchmarks before and after. The stuff not snake oil. But I also hear a couple drops of a certain soap will do that same thing.

Say, how do you measure out your coolant/water portions?. Do you do it before you pour it it or after?.

Say, how do you measure out your coolant/water portions?. Do you do it before you pour it it or after?.[/b][/quote]
I use 4L jugs of distilled. Just pour out what you don't want into a clean bottle and mix in. Doesn't have to be 100% accurate and you don't need to shake or anything. reuse what you pour of course.

Thanks Reno
