DO NOT buy brown bread or any dynamate or whatever it is that costs $$$$.

Use what roofers use on roofs. That black tar shit. It is sooooo cheap and works great. it is so cheap that you can double it up and still save $$$. Go to home dep or other hardware shops.

Alberta_Daytona
it does work just as well.
its just that it weighs alot more, and isnt as flexible.

if your on the cheap though....thats the way to do it.

You talking about that black paper?

silvia s13
no, not that black paper. its like a tar type deal. Im sure you can get it from home depot.

Im looking for the thread i read about it. It is suposed to be really good and cheap, but you might be right about it weighing more.

Makes it so your trunk or doors doesnt rattle. Makes the bass sound better. Especially if you line your doors and trunk with it. It amkes it soun d amazing. Thats an extra like 150lbs though.

Sound deading is used to stop panels resonating in the vehicle. A panel that resonates can both be annoying and cost you decimal points in SPL. Nothing really noticable to your ears but definatly noticable to the mic. The panels rattling inside a vehicle can be insanly annoying as anyone who has ever been on a highway trip with an exahst that happens to hit the resonate point in the vehicle knows. Dynamatt/brown bread/be quiet etc etc etc helps negate this crap. The best ways to do it are to apply the sheets to the metal body of the vehicle and also to apply the sheets the back of the plastic panels, making sure to pay attention to any points where the plastic has the opetrunity to vibrate on the metal. The down side to sound deading is its frigin heavy. I have done civics and added hundreds of pounds to the vehicle. For a cheaper alternative you can use the spray on ruberized undercoating that canadian tire sells. Its not as good as the real stuff but for things like the back of plastic panels it works fairly good. Im hoping this answers your questions on that this does for you
