Sorry if this is in the wrong section. Move if necessary?!
I'm in need of a summer job. Not sure if there are that many business students or anything like that on the forum, but I thought I'd give it a try.
I'm lookin for a 4month temporary position this summer. I'm a 3rd year commerce student and I want something that pertains to my field of study.
If anybody has any contacts or knows of any good job opportunities, please let me know!
Thanks in advance. |

| What is your major? Finance, accounting, marketing etc..? If it is in finance or accounting I would try applying at banks or any other major financial institution such as Ernst and Young,ING,etc. Good luck with the search |

I'm a finance major with a minor in business law.
Yea that's what i was thinking. I don't know if I want to apply at any major firms yet but we'll see what's around. I was just hoping somebody on here has been through this process as a business student or something like that.
Again, any help would be greatly apprecited. Thanks for the comments so far! |

Haha, not likely...I'm done with those kinds of jobs.
I've got an interview at EPCOR for the Junior Financial Analyst Job next week but if that falls through, I've got NOTHING!
Any other business guru's out there? |

I'm in the Co-op program there 5th yr (yikes), with the same major. They used to only work with admitted students, however, they've revamped their system to provide "Business Services" to all Commerce students. I'm not sure if it applies to just career advice or actually have summer job listings.
Chances are, most of the firm jobs are reserved for Co-op students because that's what the co-op fees pay them to do. There might be an off chance that you can get a few contacts from Brent Collingwood - he's the director of the Co-op program. |

Well you're further along in your studies than I am but the EPCOR job sounds prime. If that falls through I think a commission salesman job would be a good idea. Being able to present yourself and sell a product is always handy in the world of business.
