It is at my deepest sorrow that I've learned that Jonnie Bu, owner of FX Designs has passed away.
Jonnie was a friend, a mentor, and because of people like him, V8less exists.
I will be attending his funeral. If anyone is interested in attending also, please PM myself. |

I had a few qualms with Jonnie, this much is true, but I am nonetheless saddend at his passing.
As a person, Jonnie was a great man. I agree that no matter what, that guy could put a smile on your face. He truly loved the scene and although that is the only way I know him, I believe that his enthusiasm trancended the automotive world and he shared that love of life with anyone willing.
To all those that he touched during his life, may he live on in your memories and actions. To his friends and family, I offer my deepest condolences. And to Jonnie, thank you for pouring your heart into everything you did and may you find the peaceful rest you deserve. |

To me, Johnny was always a good friend. Always willing to talk or see what he could do to help, whether it be about business or just shooting the shit.
He was truly a force in the aftermarket autobody area, like him or not, his buisiness was bodykits and business was good.
I am greatly saddened by this news, this is a terrible loss to the sports compact car community and myself in losing a good friend.
My condolences go to the family, the world is a darker place without Johnny's company.
We'll miss you Johnny. |

I only really met him once, but he seemed to be a nice guy. He was still pretty young, which makes it even sadder.

Johnnie will now have to be remembered through our memories with him. Johnnie was known for his encouragement and ideas that he brought to the aftermarket world. He had incredible innovative ideas. Johnnie touched the lives of many people with his kindness, support, but most of all… with his friendship. He was a mentor and if it weren’t for him, the world would be incomplete. Meeting Johnnie for the first time, you could discover that he was full of happiness, enthusiasm and cheer. It was not hard for him to put a smile on anyone’s face with a simple “hello”. Johnnie put and incredible amount of effort into everything that he did. Johnnie was proud of his business and he did everything in his power to make FX Designs not only successful, but most of all, an enjoyable place to be. We are all so sad to lose such a loving and courageous person.

| Powerama |
All of us at the Powerama Motoring Expo are deeply saddened by the news that Johnny Bu has passed away. He has been an avid and dedicated supporter of Powerama sinced its inception 19 years ago. I never saw Johnny without a smile on his face! For the past few years Johnny has worked hard to help Powerama develop a stronger presence of Import cars, and has generously shared his thoughts and ideas with me to achieve that goal. For several years now he has also brought a special vibrance and color to the entertainment stage area at the show. The bounce in his step and his cheerful attitude was noticed by everyone. Powerama will not be the same without him.
On behalf of the entire Powerama crew, our most sincere condolences go out to Johnnys family.
Sincerely,
Liz Oglu - Show Manager |

Very terrible thing has happend and I cannot believe it. I worked for Johnnie for 4 years and those were great 4 years. He was always happy and tried to make everyone else aswell, even when I bitched. I have never meet a "giant" Chinese guy before and probably never will, at least not like him.
Rest in peace Johnnie, we'll all miss you. :(
This is what Johnnie created |
