| Do any of you guys know of any good boxing gyms in Edmonton? I want to do some training but not boxing ( atleast for now) I tried the whole club fit thing and found that I need somebody with my to keep me going. I think doing more of a training style work out then just the regular work outs would make it alot more fun. |

cougars is great for the money...but you HAVE to fight. and your first night will consist of 2 hours of jump rope. |

| Ya I may get into the fighting but as it stands right now not really what I am looking. Whats panthers like, I don't want to work out in a dive gym either. Not that looks matter lots, but a nice place to work out is always nice. |

If you want just boxing, UofA boxing club or Cougars is really good, i boxed at Cougars once i liked it.
Panthars reminds me of the old rocky movies, except more of a dump. |

I went to cougars, you have to fight if you go. Yes you have to skip for 2 hours straight in your first class. I did it, it's not that hard if you are in shape. They want to see if you quit or not. The benifit is that it's cheap... something like $200 a year.. it's non-profit. They have the best boxers in town.
Granted, I don't know anything about boxing gyms. Kickboxing and BJJ yes, boxing no. Speaking of which, off to the gym! |

| Not that it's a hugh deal, but why are they so hung up on you having to fight. I can see the jump rope thing. If indeed it is to see if you'll quit. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and go down there and check it out. Does anybody know where cougars is? |

The trainers there are volunteers, and aren't there to teach people recreationally. They are there to make fighters, and if you don't want to fight, you are wasting time they would spend on a fighter.
They are in little italy. they are in little italy. |
