i need 14volts from the battery to the ECU
my motor is cutting out below 3000rpm but after that its run fine.
please help

Thegnome
How many volts are on your battery when the car idles?

jasonturbo
I'm confused, you car should charge at 13.8, but everything works on 12 volts

sounds more like if the swap was just done, you have the maf hooked up wrong.

give more info you dummy??? how is anybody supposed to troubleshoot that??

It sounds like your car has a problem......

phat240
what maf r u using

jasonturbo
just a shot in the dark, cause your explanations dont make any fuckin sense to me.

but maybe, just maybe your alt. is fucked/ battery fucked/ you are missing a ground??

for god's sake man, give us details, I'm sure I can help you out.

dont get me wrong, I'm really happy for you, 14 volts, that's great, but I dont see how that would be relavent to the 3000rpm issue...

khojaman
alright the cars idie is mess up. its seems like its struggleing to stay started.
i am useing a dry cell battery- tested ok
altornator is givin out 14v - tested ok
maf 14v - tested ok

what the tech is sayin is that the car should be sending 14v to the ECU. the cars is only sending 12v to the ecu.

also the tech also saying on the ecu relay there are 4 prongs. turning on the cars
ignition point 1 there is power
ingintion point 2 these is power
ingintion point 3 (start) there should be no power but there is 8v this should not be.

i am trying to explain the best i can.

jasonturbo
what tech and where??? seems a little weird to me.

Ecu only needs to have 12 volts, all components on a 12v system operate on 12volts. Only the chraging circuitry should have 13.8 volts.

If your ecu is getting 12 volts, the problem is certainly not there, so the car wont idle, but past 3000 rpm it is fine??

I would sooner point my finger at IACV, MAF, vacumm lines that's off somewhere, or a boost leak.. how bad does it idle?

khojaman
hey its not the iacv, maf,or boost leak.

the car is strugleing to stay started when ideing. i will try to get more info from the tech guy and will pm you

thank you

Mekanik22
Your MAF doesn't get 14V. What "tech" are you getting this from?

Secondly, check your timing and make sure its right. And for god sake make SURE you don't have any boost leaks. They can be in places you don't know about until you acually pressure test it.

jasonturbo
yeah, who the hell are you letting work on this thing?? Mr. Rogers???? Big bird?????

khojaman
the problem with the car is LOW VOLTAGE TO THE ECU??????
help?

RS13
Maybe try re-wireing the power to the ECU????

It is has low power comming in i would check out the wiring.

jasonturbo
ok, if the problem is low voltage to the ecu

just rewire the power to the ecu

nice and easy

EK9Hatch
Jason, don't diss Mr. Rogers or Big Bird, I know both of them personally and they do go work on import tuners. :p
