I am new to the forced induction world and i have a few questions.

I have a 86 626 turbo and i was wondering what the stock boost should be.
i also have a boost guage hooked up and when i am driving normaly its around 5 psi, but when i bag it hard it rises as the reves go up to as much as 15 psi is this the actual boost i am getting or is there somthing wrong? while i am on the same topic will a boost controller stop this boost rise and keep it at a constant
thanks Dave

Sounds like something is wrong. Does it still have a catalitic converter? Something is maybe restricting the exhaust flow that could be why it is creaping? A boost controller is not goina help.
What else can you tell us about your car.

man boost controllers are a pain in the ass, i just put a new turbo in my buddies talon and we went for a drive, it had a turbosmart controller in it, and the turbo would not stop boosting, up to 30psi, if its creeping on the stock wastegate, theres something not right, a boost controller will just make it worse to figure out

also, find out what rpms you're hitting 15psi at, if its low and doesn't keep on creeping then it should be stock, not sure tho...
