What are the downsides to a 180sx? I know the one I've already ordered has a bad crack in the dashboard. It's cosmetic only, which is good. But where do I source one?
Compared to the silvia, all the front end body parts are the same right?
How many other parts on my car would I have to get from Japan? Was the SR20DET ever offered here?
The steering assembly for RHD I'm sure would require ordering from Japan.
Are there resources or postings online of people parting off what's left of their front end clips? |

Downsides to a 180SX, same thing as a S13 Silvia, understeer.
If you look hard you can find a dash. JDMSource gets them in from time to time and also they have been here long enough now that some are being parted out.
Yes, almost all the body parts are the same as a 240SX hatch.
It depends on what parts you need. On most 180's everything needed can be easily gotten here. The SR20DET was never offered in North America, but there is thousands of swaps, and older Sentra's came with a SR20DE which will offer the huge majority of parts you need.
I have seen a few cars here where you could source a steering assembley. I have never heard of a place like that, I would be all over it ;) |

Understeer.. is it excessive.. or are you just speaking of stock trim, i mean.. aftermarket coilovers,rims/tires,sway bars.. would fix this.. correct |

My S13 had coilovers, wheels/tires, just the stock sway bar, but it understreered alot. If you just put a beefier sway bar up front it would induce understreer even more. If you just put one in the back, it should help induce overstreer. I was also running 0 degrees camber in the front, between 2-3 degrees of negative camber is very reasonable for fast driving. This would probley help more. If you really wanted to try sway bars, I would suggest adjustable ones. Install them front and back, where ever you need moregrip, lossen the sway bar. Also tire pressure and the type of tire can also play a huge factors. The understreer may be a huge downfall on the S13 chassis, it doesn't stop them from being fun as hell and from people drifting and racing them, they are great cars! |

Yea just i'm not into the drifting thing.. i'm more about the corners. Would increasing the tires width help? Is it possible to add a LSD to the car? |

| Most cars are designed from the factory to understeer for safety reasons. I.e. it's better to run off the road on a tight corner than to spin in the corner or 'miss' in your lane and hit traffic. Tuning your suspension should be the answer to correcting this problem. Isn't it right that the front engine rear wheel drive is the advantage of the S13 here? |
