WTF is up with blue-jean fashion these days? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Inzane
Ok, I'll be the first to admit that I don't have much fashion sense. But anyway I observed something really strange in a clothing store. I was well overdue for a new pair of pants (jeans) and was in a Mark's Work Wearhouse the other day. Found something suitable and comfortable and affordable. But I looked down the aisle and saw this *other* style of jeans that left me perplexed... they were blue jeans with these weird streaks of BROWN... almost analogous to the acid-wash look of yesteryear. They look just horrid.

My first impression was ICKKK... who'd buy jeans that look DIRTY right from day 1 when they are new and clean? I mean seriously this particular line of jeans looks so bad that the best way I can think to describe them is it looks like someone wearing them slid in a pile of manure, literally!!

I don't get it... does that shit-stain look actually appeal to some people?? :dunno:

used jeans are the trend now!!! lol!

I guess this is almost like those gay jeans that are ripped and shit already, which fall apart after like 3 washes AND cost like 200 bucks or something. I guess people are willing to waste money on worn jeans haha.

But yeah, pre-faded jeans

I read that it's supposed to give off a look of "your favorite pair of jeans that took you years to mould to your body"

Blame the metrosexuals - they keep causing all these silly trends, like guys wearing woman's pants.

Why would you buy jeans with holes. $150 on a pair of wrecked jeans is so messed up.

Thanks. Missed that the first time around.

 Good god! I'd consider paying a bit more for jeans designed NOT to rip and wear out in certain places...

Heh... on the above mentioned shopping trip to MWW, I walked out with a perfectly good set of Denver Hayes for ~$30, on sale. The most I've ever paid for jeans was in the ~$70-80 range for CK's occasionally, or something like that. (I like some Levis too).

Its funny, I could easily drop a GRAND on the car and not even blink. But get me to spend more than say a ~$100 on a clothing-related shopping trip and I get all panicky.

I know some women who have had pre-faded jeans for almost 2 years now, but the fade is pink.

Well I swear to god the ones I saw the other day in the store were shit-brown. :dunno:

mitsubitchy
Ive seen them before.... its like copperish color

JdmCrx
Have u seen shirts these days? It could send you into a coma.

SilverNeonRacer
And people wonder why I have a hard time finding clothes I like.

Frick I should just start wearing army baggy greens(yes properly) it would be easier.

I wear just plain black jeans or black cargos, and black t-shirts, I have 1 sweater I like, but it's time to re-tire it.

At the Ambercrombie store in west ed they have jeans that come rediculously pre-faded, the metal rivets in the jeans are actually pre-"rusted" AND they come with white paint stains on them. I though, "Jesus, it looks like pecker tracks."

My question though, is who's the genius that decided to replace the zipper fly with the button fly? Was that really necessary? I just spent the last 18 years of my life practicing the fine art of not getting my penis stuck in the zipper and NOW, all of a sudden, I no longer have to worry about that anymore?

Fashion is stupid.

My biggest problem with it all is EVERYONE is wearing bluejeans.

Guess what dickheads, noone really cares if your pants are "in fashion." Especially when the pants you are wearing are just like all the rest.

Seriously, walk through a mall and count how many people are wearing jeans. I would hazard to say that roughly 80% are wearing jeans.

Oh, and don't get me started on that crap show "What not to wear" on The lady Channel (a.k.a The learning channel). My fiance watches it and I would love to take a red hot turbocharger to that guys face. If only because guys should hate fashion, just like me. :p

I knew if i wore my Jeans long enough they would comg back in fashion... :D

Honda_Finatic
i notice alot of the jeans have holes in them or look tarnished in some way... wonder if i should get rich by buying cheap jeans, ripping them or mucking them up somehow and charging $300 a pair.... lol :p

I could say something soooo mean... you shouldn't leave yourself wide open like that man... :D

But yeah, +1 for not understanding the stupid jeans. When mine we're ripped, it's from sports or something, I sure as hell am not buying them like that.

mitsubitchy
keep wearing your jeans if you rip them, cause the more it gets ripped, the more your in style! hahaha

dance_of_curse

When people complain about fashion trends it's because they're insecure about what they're wearing.

And sorry to break it to you, worn jeans have been popular for the years.. so it's not something new.

I know that. I was speaking specifically of the ones that, like I said earlier, look like they were rubbed in manure.

Thanks for the history lesson.

About what?

Truth be told when I wrote that I was in a rant mood.
I really could care less what strangers do.
