Say I have a 4 cylinder car, I heard that if you get a compression test done, it's okay for the numbers to be within 10% of the norm (e.g. 160).
is that true?
asking for a friend. should he be concerned? I think his compression test came back 160 160 160 170.
edit: no mods done to the car at all. |

thats fine. i think honda specs are 15% within the highest and lowest cylinder.
my lowest is 190 highest is 205 and honda says thats fine.
im pretty sure other manufacturers are the same. |

| with a compression test begin done, how many times do you have to crank it...like if i crank it 2x's i will get lets say 120, 3x's 160, and 4x's 220...so how can anyone tell what is good or not? or maybe i must be a handicap and dont know how to do a comp. test. thanks |

crank until it stops moving :p
just remember to pull the fuel pump fuse, and hold throttle at WOT with all the plugs out. |
