Best Intake for a Civic? - Click HERE for Original Thread

lava
I'm looking for a intake system for a 1999 Civic SiR. Can anyone recommend something?

RaGingAngeL
The best thing for a mildly done up motor is still probably a cold air intake.
I am selling them which can be seen on a blue SiR with Spoon wheels in Edmonton and another one which is on a teal green Civic HB.
They can be had for 200CAD plus taxes and shipping....

if you are, you can take a look at the one that i have in my car, i'm the one with the green Hatchback SiR, i got it from RaGinAngel. email me if you want to see it.

AEM or ICEMAN.....hands down, they are the best. Worth every penny.:)

Raging Angel, EG6 SiRII,
Who makes those intaks? Does that inlcude the filer? Looks a lot like the AEM.

the intakes are from Vancouver, they come with a K&N filter and all the installation hardwares.
(Edited by EG6 SiRII at 8:28 pm on Aug. 15, 2001)

aren't the best CAI's aem's?? i heard that they're slightly better than ICEMAN... but i also heard that iceman's fit great on a prelude and aem's don't really fit well.. but we're not tlaking about preludes... we're talking about civics... so yeah..

Unsure
I've heard that some people had just as much luck with home made CAI's. They actually made as much power but stayed cooler than the AEM unit.

Cairo is actually selling his for &#36130, better get it, it's a good deal, it's only been used for 3 months.

Man, the people at Auto Toys are just pushing out their crap in this forum.

CYA
not that anyone asked for my opinion but i'll give it anyway... don't waste your money. if you build it yourself for under &#36100 (including a filter) then yeah... go for it. but i would not spend that money for a couple HP that isn't going to do shiat.
cya

I've seen some home made intakes and they look crappy. I'd rather dress up the engine like Cairo's.

Unsure
Trust me, you can make it look just as nice as any manufacturer... in any color... Just takes time/imagination. I had a friend that dressed up his engine compartment for a few bux. A bit of brake kleen and some paint... tada.. But if you enjoy spending your cash on stuff that "looks" nice thats up to you.
