some ppl just want the rims for looks  :dunno: |
|
|
| turbomike |
ok corn foolio or i mean prada...
a rim is much lighter than a tire...
why do you think race cars use 20 or bigger |
|
|
| prada_2o0o |
turbomike: yes race cars do ... but not everyone drives around on slicks.. for ppl who build their average cars for speed a lightweight rim helps.... for a race car... strictly drag only the car has so much power it would get no traction at all ....
oh yeah i forgot.. i always see fast street compact cars with 20inch slicks heading down 97th street ... like the nice itr wheels in 20" ......
s2oooR: I agree some people do go for looks and buy 17" rims. but thats not fair to say that people buy 15" cuz they cant afford the 17" rims thats all i was saying... they are nice rims.. but all i was stating is it dusnt make you cheap cuz you want a 15" |

I want 15's cause 17's and larger look like shit on my car. Your saying I can't afford it is true, I just bought a b16, oh well. They are sweet looking rims, don't get me wrong but for performance in autoX's, a lot of cars will actually have 14's and smaller. It's because of unsprung weight, the less you have the better the car performs. I'm going with 15's because it's a compromise between looks and performance, it's a daily driver. Had it been my weekend warrior, 13's with slicks would be on it.
Tell you what, we'll line up our cars at Bud. You with your bling bling 17's and me with my POS 14's. Chances are, you'll kick my ass in the 1/4. Than we'll hit the autoX's. You again with your 17's and me with my 14's. Than we'll see why I don't like anything larger than a 15" diameter. |

"cant afford them and 2"s to big is totally different.... if someone wants to get a good timeslip..heavy 17"s wouldnt help....id say there are some pretty expensive 15" that are alot nicer than these... spoon.. mugen.. volk..." Thanx einstein, I asked for an opinion when? Last time I checked I was posting my wheels for sale not asking about a bunch of opinions on which is better 17" or 15" blah blah blah. And I'm sure I'd kick ass on an auto-x, remember I'm rollin on 40 series tires, and tires (IMO) make the biggest handling difference. That and the car's scrapin too. Oh yeah, spoon wheels are a fockin rip-off n-e ways. (IMO).
"but ummm what's the dealeeeo with the 4 bolt pattern foolio? " Can't help the fact that my civic is 4 boltio yoyo.
I'll see what I can do about the logos, a shop in the west end told me he could swap them around for about $50/ tire, sounds like a good deal!
Yeah, I'm an asshole........ ah well. |
