| How many of you would actually pick someone up at a bar, or be picked up by someone at a bar? Risky, dangerous, but don't most of us still go clubbing too? |

I actually wrote a huge thing before on why bars suck to pick up men/women.
I do not think that people can have a long, meaningful relationship that stemmed from meeting in a bar. A lot of people that pick up girls from bars go for the booty call, or the short term relationship. There are a lot better places to look for or pick up someone.
As for myself, I go clubbing with the girls, and all of us have guys either out with their friend, or working at the time. So we do not go there to pick up anyone, just to dance and have fun. |

| Ugh, my overall impression of the frame of mind clubbers are in (present company accepted of course) isn't what I would call long term.<p>It's great Scintillater, that you friends have been together that long after meeting in a bar, I too know a pair that met in a bar and have been married for many years.<p>But like Crystal said, it is tough, most people clubbing have one of two things in mind, chilling, or unattached sex.<p> |

I mean, the first thing I'm thinking when some guy comes to chat is.. Okay, he want's my #, then SEX, and then never to see me ever again.
Am I thinking wrong? haha..

To illistrate my point on the unattached sex issue, there was a bet going in an after hours club in the city about a year ago between two guys. It was to see who could reach the 50 mark first for sleeping with the girls they meet there. That is one reason why I refuse to meet people that are in a club for any sort of romance; it is totally people like those two. |
