hey everyone, ok i am goin to get a exhuast kit from ebay (yes, yesi know; ghetto) and i was wondering what diameter of piping i should go with...this install is going with a stock header and my choices are 2.5"(63mm) or a 3"(76mm) diameter, manderal bend piping. with resonator. thanks

also if any of you have after market exhaust, what are you guys running and if weather or not you still have your catalic converter intalled or not, and if it will result in your check engine light to come on, on a 5th gen lude.

both those sizes are too big.. i think stock is 2" unless your modified you really dont need 2.5 but definatly 3 is too big.. you can get away with 2.5

FYI cheap ebay exhausts like fake N1's, megans and such all sound horrible. Your prelude will sound like crap.

HAHHA, 2.5" IT IS....AS FOR THE SOUND, IM SURE IT WILL BUT THATS USUALLY DUE TO THE MUFFELER CORRECT??? ALSO IF I WAS TO CHANGE THE MUFFLER I COULD GO WITH A SMALLER ONE FROM LIKE MAGNAFLOW OR SUCH. THE ONE FROM EBAY IS 4.5" TIP HHAHA AWSOME.

I have the magnaflow on mine and it sounds great.

You should see Tylers exhaust it is so big you can put your foot in it:thumbup:

why is 2.75" too big?

you would lose too much back pressure that you would lose low end power. itll flow alot better top end, but whats the point of having top end power for daily driving unless you plan to keep it there constantly. you would be better off with a 2.5' cause you would lose a bit of low end power and gain a bit of top end power.

what can we do for low end power sorry for clogging the thread

the only real thing i can think of is to advance the timing by a degree or so, other then that, im out of ideas. i doubt theres alot you can do for low end poewr, but theres plenty you can do for top end power

Nis13
haha i think my timings off a little anyway
