brand new ipod crappy battery run time? wtf - Click HERE for Original Thread

LudeDude19
ok so i just bought a 30gb ipod video and i'm very tempted to take it back.

i've only used it twice now.

I charged it fully the first time and i got about 3.5-4hours use of it then the battery died. that was it.

Then i charged it fully again and this time the battery lasted about 4-5 hours.

The salesdude AND the website says the battery should last about 14hours but it will deteriate after a few months or a year or so.

so, do you guys think I got a faulty Ipod and I should take it back? or will i end up exchanging it and having the same "problem" with this lack of battery run time?

ipods come with some charge in them, did you condition the battery by letting it die completely before you charged it fully? if you didnt then this is why it is dying so fast. But if you can take it back, do it.

goodluck:blue:

i followed the instructoins given with the ipod

it said "before you even use ur ipod, let it charge fully" ...so that's what i did..

but i think i'm goign to take it back and try the 60gb seeing as how i almost filled the 30gb in one sitting haha

ya for sure i had a 30 video and it was good for me, 60 is huge. But when you get the new one let it die completely and then charge it to full, because they come like 90% charged.

also depends if your using it to play video, then it makes sense it lasts 4-5 hrs, if your using it for songs, then should last 12-24 hrs depends on player
