Shops for turbocharging B18c5 - Click HERE for Original Thread

Okay, i'm looking for a shop that can actually install and tune (properly, on crome preferably). Speedtech quoted me 800 for install and at least 600 for the tuning. Are there any places in Edmonton that can do this?

Apex.

apex can install it for you...but they aren't comfortable tuning turbo hondas so they won't tune it

So you plan on boosting a stock B18C5?

Hope you know you may want to change the compression a bit with the b18c5 and boost .... talk to IntegraRS ( Matt ) he had the Jap b18c which compression is more like the USJDM b18c5 ( depending on which one you have ) The b18c1 ( gsr ) engine has a lower compression and thus easier to boost safely.

Ive only seen 1 boosted b18c5 down in vancouver the rest were hybrid b18c1 blocks or b20 or something. Its possible but most just go all motor route with the b18c5. Your car your choice ... honda-tech.com = your friend

you dont boost a c5 you boost a c1

You realize that there is only 0.5:1 difference between a C1 and a C5 right?

I wouldnt recommend boosting either, but if you do boost a stock C5, you better be running low boost and have some damn good tuning.

I've done way too much research on boosting a B18C5. The compresison numbers are fine, as long as I run low boost on the stock motor (~7 psi) it will be reliable, if I plan going above that, i'll need to sleeve it and whatnot but right now i'd like to get the turbo in. The all motor route is way more expensive, and $/hp gain is terrible for the minimal amount of relaibility gain.

And yea, I do need a good tuner, and it seems like Edmonton or Calgary doesn't have any good tuners...

Speedtech has one of the best tuners for hondas around. Brad helped hondata develop their software (ie: beta site back in the day)......go there.

Kinetic Motorsport if you are willing to go to BC.

Speedtech seems to only want to install it if I buy a turbokit through them. They quoted me at ~$8000 for everything which is about $3000 more than it should cost. Plus they only tune hondata (I'd rather go with crome or uberdata).

don't boost it.... you should strap some ITB's on that bitch and make it scream!!!
