VAFC vs Hondata - Click HERE for Original Thread

Nis13
If the hondata can do the same thing as the VAFC why not just go wiht the hondata? Do you need a turbo application for hondata? Or is basicly the same thing as a VAFC but with more functions? Can someone explain this to me a little bit more?

Thanks

hondata probably has more options then the VAFC, but a VAFC is a piggyback system while hondata is a stand alone system.

i think hondata costs more then VAFC, but its well worth the extra paid. the use of a VAFC is very limit anyways. i cant see why you would need to turbo your car for hondata anyways, you just make a fuel/timing map without doing anything extreme like when the turbo decides to kick in.

hondata costs quite a bit more.. and you can be far more precise in tuning with a hondata as well as more features... VAFC has i think 24 tuning points. vafc is for budget watchers.

alot better said, and VAFC requires you to hack up your factory harness unless you get the adapter for it.

the main problem with hondata is you need to tune from a base map rather then with what the VAFC is reading.

the choice between the two depends on how serious you are about tuning.

if you are going to leave your car at i/h/e than stick with the VAFC route.

Hondata is the more serious route to go with if you want to tune your vehicle after some major modifications.

i run uberdata.. its a little outdated but its doing the trick well and its freeware. base map tuning is the best way to tune anyways.

instead of turbo im probbaly going to try and keep an N/A engine
and rebuild my motor top to bottom. ITB eventualy, pulleys camshafts/gears ect. ect.
