So I got rear ended - Click HERE for Original Thread

So I'm on way to a friend's place to watch the Oilers game and I'm sitting at a red light. Conditions are light rain and cloudy skies at around 8:30pm. I'm just chillin' listening to RHCP and waiting for the light to change and then THUD. Muther F-er, I just got rear ended I look in my rear view mirror and SHE'S ON THE CELL PHONE Now, I'm usually a nice guy, but when you spend countless hours taking care of the paint, always park your car miles away just to avoid door dings, and never take your car downtown because drivers get crazy downton... let's just say I was pretty pissed off.

She tried to give me some sob stories and she said she would pay cash and I'm thinking, NO F-ING WAY. I've read too much on this forum and I've learned enough, let's call the cops now. But I don't have a cell phone! I tried getting her to call a few times, but she wouldn't. Luckily, a cop car just happened to be coming along! Apparently her vehicle wasn't registered, but the Constable told me I shouldn't worry because her insurance policy seemed to be valid.

I'm physically okay, but I'm mentally shaken up. I filed the police report already and the police officer who took my report says it should be easy if the other party goes in and gives her info. There just seems to be damage to the right rear of the bumper and the rear tail light, but I'm really worried about frame damage.

shitty deal.
how hard did she hit? looks like just the bumper. i doubt there is anything done to the frame. do what mike did and get a bodykit out of it.

i considered that. i really wanted a buddy club rear for a while, but i'm such an oem queen.

any idea which places i should go to get the work done?

2ndgenlude
jim young on the end of argyle is where I go. great bunch of guys. i have heard good things about modern/joeys place too.

Xx D-MAN xX
That sucks! That is one of my worst fears, getting involved in an accident from some dumbass that isn't paying attention.

Modern Autobody if insurance is paying for it. Maybe Transform Spoilers if you want to get that little extra added.

preluderca
thats shitty i too would recomend modern, even if insurance isnt payin for it, they do aweomse work............and you be confident that it is done right.

preluderca
and joeys place does mostly paint, if ur gonna paint the whole car and slap a body kit on, go see joey, but get ready to pay with your left nut..... if you just want to get a bumper and repaint that, go see modern........, ive heard noting but good things about transform spoilers ability to do good work with body kits and what not.......but good luck

Thanks man, but I think I'll stick with modern anyways. They're a reputable shop and my insurance people say they're good too.

So I just found out that I can only get "remanufactured" parts on my car :(

I've spoken with a few insurance reps and they say that this is industry standard for a 2001. Anyone else know about this? Am I getting jerked around?
