I've got a 94 Civic Hatch that I've had for quite sometime. I rolled it back in 2002 and it sat in the back yard since then. I've recently done a bit of "racers" bodywork (straightened roof/right rear quarter panel with hammer/dolly/bondo and painted it flatblack, looks like ass but it's functional) to it as I'm prepping it to be an auto-x/roadrace beater.
The frame is a bit tweaked so I'm wondering if anyone knows of a bodyshop that'll throw it on a frame rack and quickly pull it out for a decent price. The right rear has some positive camber whereas the left rear has negative, as well the right front corner needs to be pulled 1/2" or so out I think.
Anyone? |

Matt,
Lets just throw the tow strap from my K5 around it and get a good running start, I'm sure we can pull it at least 1/2"
I'll do it if you split a 6 pack with me first!! |

D&G on the northside offers a good price.
How much does it need to pull? If it's only a little bit, I've used a vehicle (multiple vehicles sometimes), or a huge wooden pole (The power line pole) to pull it. It's not nearly as accurate, but if you know what you're doing you can get it close enough that it's not a huge safety issue.
The key is that you know what you're doing when it comes to pulling the frame, or else you'll pull in one place and knock another out of alignment.
As well, I'd advise against using a towrope - I have much better (And more accurate) success with using a chain/racheting pulley (I've always referred to it as a come-a-long - I don't know the technical name) |

| I've done the telephone pole thing, ended up shaking the huge thing and it didnt pull the frame at all, of course we had no idea what we were doing. |

| Thanks for the info guys, I will check out D&G, a good friend suggested the telephone pole / come-a-long route but I'm a little leary as I don't really know what I'm doing when it comes to pulling on tweaked frames. :) |

I was totally kidding with my reply, I can't believe that someone would actually do that. How would you go about measuring such a thing to make sure you were accurate? :dunno:
I can't beleive that someone would actually do that. |

You measure the points on the frame to ensure they are the same. You can get the frame to within a 1/16" of an inch, which is probably more than acceptable.
The only downside? You need to understand how frame pulling works. If you do, it can be done easily (Just not if it needs a large pull). |

If you've never pulled a frame, and can't get a guy with experience to give you a hand, take it to D&G. They've always been who I go to if I need a pull I can't do myself. |

Any ideas on rates? A friend of the family had the frame pulled on an X19 for relatively cheap. |

I've always paid the employee rate for work done there, so I can't tell you.
I can tell you that they're a fair bunch of people - they'll charge the going rate, or a bit under. |
