Speed up my BMW 325I - Click HERE for Original Thread

Chris Seto
Anyone have some good suggestions on the best steps for me to take to speed up my BMW 325I??
Or should I be looking at a new car instead??

reno
Unless you are some really rich kid I doubt that you can afford this. Its not like modifying a Honda. BMW modifications are a real money pit. Drive the car and get to know it better (engine and handling) before you make any decisions on modifications. Some mods are more suited to a certain persons taste and how you would like it to handle, so what other people recommend might not be to your liking. I would suggest that you check out some of the more popular sites to found out what you like.
www.bekkers.com

www.motronixmotorsports.com
www.bavauto.com
www.dinan.com
etc etc

-Supersprint exhaust &#36500 (www.bimmertoys.com)
-Performance differential rebuilds (better accleration) &#361633 (www.turnermotorsport.com)
-TMS/Jim Conforti chip and Intake pakage (30hp) &#36660 (www.turnermotorsport.com)

People tell me that buying the chip is the cheapest upgrade for the most horsepower for the BMW.

reno
Chips are good however you have to be careful about which one you buy. Typically they just crank up timing and you'll likely need to run higer octane of fuel to compensate otehrwise you'll get detonation. Which chip are you looking at?

Talented
I have heard the Dinan Chip is pretty good, but I think you're right, you'll have to use a higher octane fuel.

you can buy a couple of stickers ( +5hp) and racing shoulder pads (+10hp) AHAHAH jk

Yeah I hear pumping your tires up with Helium will decrease your rotating mass enough to give you .5 off your 0-60!

I dont know too much about BMW, but is there any turbocharger or supercharger avaliable for the 325? And how much power would it add?
I'm just curious.

seven
what are you lookin to spend Chris? =P

test
How much would it cost to put a M3 engine into it?

CRXguy
Yup, there's plenty of super/turbocharger kits for BMW's. It's a matter of having the &#36&#36&#36.:D
I can't remember the names, but I'll post up some more info if I can find my old magazines.

Crazyhorse
Why would you want to do that to BMW? Just keep it stock!
