i was wondering if there is anyway i can disable the sensor. i have a header that i want to put on my b16a but the header is for a b18a (1 o2 sensor) so i was wondering what i can do , link the 2 of them togetther maybe, or rig something up . if anyone has come across this little boundry and figured out a way that will work . plez let me know.

i was wondering maybe if a screwed a y peice into the origanl sensor hole and then screw both the sensors into the ends of the y peice? :dunno:

help me out, how many wires does each one have?? as far as I know, you can connect the both as one I beleive, you can't just eliminate it.

Second choice is to just have a muffler shop weld another bung on, if I was you I would just get the seconday one put on behind the motor under the car like 92-95 eg's/ just extend the wire and have the exhaust shop do the rest. Or buy a chip for your ecu that allows you to eliminate the sensor. Buying a chip will also do good things to your timming/ fuel mapping and make your car have a little more power.

the two of them only have one wire each... thats what i was thinking to just splice tha two together....
about welding another plug into it is that it is a cromly header soo i need it to be tig welded and im not sure if they do that at an exhaust shop

as far as i know OBD0 only had 1 O2 sensor. its OBD2 that has a second O2 sensor and its placed after the cat. you can always try an O2 simulator

jasonturbo
try splicing them together. I thought I had 2 wires on one, and then 1 wire on the other..????

just try it real quick before you decide what to do, from what I know, the o2 sensors are different. if you buy just a regular 1 wire honda o2 sensor like 91 integra ls sensor and use it, it wont work. You need a 92-93 gsr secondary sensor for the second one, otherwise it throws codes. SO maybe you cant wire them together... I cant recall... sorry man.

Just know that the secondary one is on the dr. side.

both the o2 sensors on obd0 vtec dohc honda's b16a1 and b17a1 have a second o2 sensor located at the meeting of the up/down pipe on the header. Obviously hasport makes a bolt on slolution. Both 02 sensors are located there FYI on the header/

not to bash on your parade, but i doubt it would work since the O2 wires have extremely little voltage within them. splicing them would probably cut the voltage in half, so your ECU wont read the O2 sensor correctly.

in addition, splicing them would increase the chances of the wire picking up some eletrical current which can also effect performance as well

dose the o2 sensors have to be directly into the flow of the exhaust or can i bolt a y peice into the existing hole on the header and then bolt the 2 o2senors into the y peice?

it has to be in direct flow of the exhaust otherwise it wont read properly

uberdata/crome - enable open loop - done :p

but if you would like to just run the stock ecu i would weld another bung in...call a couple exhaust shops and ask them if they can do that type of welding...wouldn't hurt

hammerdown99
ya 4 sure will doo...
