FMIC and Power FC - YAY! - Click HERE for Original Thread

shawley
got this on the last 2 days

icydude
get it ideling now?

TyPhOOnSliPPerY
looks good .... now you need to get a proper intake

shawley
hahahaha yea i know i need a proper intake, the one i had a Apexi one was like flooding my maf, i'm not sure what was going on but when i reved up past 2grand at a stop it would just die

we put the stock air box on and it worked fine

and now i can't put that one back one, because jay put it on one of his cars, his Z,

and yes damien the idle issues are solved now, it's weird

TyPhOOnSliPPerY
get a hks drop in filter if that is the case ...... but I dont know why it would be causing that issue ....

CanadianSkyline
Actually, the stock airbox is supposed to be as good or better than a pod filter (if you drop in a new element). It draws in cold air from outside, where as a pod just takes hot air from the engine bay. If you do a pod, you should also make some sort of duct to send air towards the filter from outside, or make a cold air partition.

Looks great Shawn, very shiney!

don't have a aftermarket intake,

just gonna be running the airbox witha drop in filter and a 300zx maf,

then a cone filter when i get a chance to get one

cus my power fc, has a setting for a 300zx maf,

thanks EK9Hatch, i really like your car, very clean!

Driven
I vote for ban.

a power FC is a standalone right.....

so couldnt you just eliminate the MAF sensor all together....

95IntegraRS
You could, but then you would lose the adjustability of the MAF ( changing elevations and weather changes will fuck your tune) and considering he doesn't have a in-car A/F meter, it would be pointless and painstaking.

I am just learning how much of a pain this really is with my own car...

How difficult is it to 'tune' that PFC?

What basemaps did it come with? Did you buy it off ebay?

(I want to PFC my FD, but I don't know of any 'tuners' here..)

95IntegraRS
If you have minimal modifications, finding a map to suit your application shouldn't be hard because there are tons of FD maps for the basic upgrades.

crazyrx7
If you buy a power fc from a store in the states like rx7store.net then all you do is tell them what your mods are and he will load a map in there for you. The only thing that he does is runs it a little richer so that you don't pop your motor when you install the ecu.

i got mine from http://www.jappartspecilists.com

they don't mass produce the power fc for the rb20det so it's more expencive than for any other vehicle

my car is parked right now till my new maf gets here or till i can borrow someones rb20det maf or 30zx maf

but it sets its own idle and is pretuned for near stock
